Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. The Rev. Robert Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Wendt. Memorials may be made to Two Rivers YMCA, Moline.

Orville was born Jan. 5, 1911, in St. Louis, Mo., to Claude and Marge Brisco Barron. He married Jane Johnson July 28, 1941, in Rock Island. She preceded him in death in 1995.

He was employed at Deere & Co. for 41 years, retiring in 1972 from John Deere Intercontinental as manager of exports and in charge of all ports.

Orville was a former member of Oakwood Country Club, the Elks, Moline Breakfast Optimist Club and was active in Junior Achievement. He was also a volunteer for Sun City Food Bank and Boswell Hospital, Sun City, Ariz. He enjoyed golf, gardening and traveling.

Many people will remember Orville from the Big Band Era when they danced to Orville Barron and the Missourians Band.

Survivors (and spouses) are his daughter, Pam (Mike) Wendt, Moline; granddaughter, Cecelia Wendt, Miami Lakes, Fla.; and grandson, Michael Wendt, Champaign, Ill. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Stephen Barron.
