HERMAN LUTHER ANDERSON
Herman Luther Anderson, son of Herman and Lelia Anderson, was born in Cresco, February 10, 1903, and died May 15. 1927, at the age of 24 years 3 months and 5 days. His family lived in Cresco until March, 1913 when they moved to a farm near Lime Springs. Luther spent a year with the Hormel Packing Co., at Austin, Minn. He was also with the Capitol Amusement Co., owned by T. L. Ryan of St. Paul. He was married Dec. 23, 1925, at Lime Springs, to Miss Johanna Esther Measink of this place and they lived near Lime Springs until about four months ago when they moved to Wisconsin, where they again joined the Capitol Amusement Company, this being Luther's third season with them. While loading at Chetek, Wis., the Omaha northbound Duluth Limited truck the truck Luther was driving, throwing him thirty feet and killing him instantly. He leaves to mourn his early death, his loving wife, Joanna, his father, mother and two brothers, Herbert and Llewellyn, one brother, Myron, having preceded him death Sept. 3. 1920. He also leaves one uncle, Andrew Anderson and wife, of Chicago. Ill., an aunt, Mrs. Austin Paulson and husband of Ossian. his aged grandparents, Mr. and Mrs George Bly of Cresco, his uncle Alva Bly and family of Austin, Minn, uncles Leslie Bly and Rollo Bly of Cresco, an aunt, Mrs. Wm. Breckenridge, of Minneapolis, besides a host if other relatives and friends. "Lou" as he was called by his friends, was of a happy disposition, always willing to help anyone and he was well liked by everyone.
