Harmon H. Shafer was born on 7 October 1869 in Howard County, Iowa.1 He and Bertha Alice Bly were married on 24 December 1902. He died on 8 February 1917, at age 47, in Lime Springs, Howard, Iowa.2,1 He was buried in New Oregon Cemetery, Cresco, Howard, Iowa.1

Shafer.
Harmon H, Shafer was born near Cresco, Iowa, Oct. 7, 1869, and passed away at his home near Lime Springs, Iowa, Feb, 8, 1917, at the age of 47 years, 4 months and 1 day. He passed away suddenly after an illness of about two months when thought to be slowly recovering from the effects of diphtheria and an abscess in the throat. He was united in marriage to Bertha A. Bly Dec. 4, 1902, in the same room in which he passed away. His wife, one daughter, three brothers, and one sister are left to mourn his death. He spent the first sixteen years of his life at his home near Cresco and the remainder of his life near Lime Springs. Funeral services were held, in the M. E. church in Lime Springs Saturday. Feb. 10. The remains were taken to Cresco and burial was made in New Oregon cemetery.

Opal V. Dinger was a Stenographer in Commercial Bank.3 Opal (my step-mother) died in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. She is buried along side my Mother and Father at Coupeville, Washington.

Norman H. Bohnsack1

Biography

Norman H. Bohnsack was born on 11 March 1916 in Bohnsack Township, Traill, North Dakota.1 He died on 15 January 2011, at age 94. He was buried in Sunnyside Cemetery, Coupeville, Island, Washington.2
Norman H. Bohnsack, 94, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Birchview Memory Care.

He was born on March 11, 1916 in Bohnsack Township, Traill County, North Dakota, the son of John & Freida (Mergenthal) Bohnsack.

In 1941 Norman was united in marriage to Lillian Fiksdal and they made their home in Seattle. During WW II, Norman served his country in the U.S. Navy.

After his discharge he returned to Seattle where together he and Lillian made their home until 1951 when they moved to Coupeville, WA. Norman was well established in electronics and was part of the Westinghouse movement in television.

In 1961 Lillian passed away. In 1964 he married Opal Note and they made their home in Anchorage, Alaska, residing there until 2005 when they moved to Sedro-Woolley. Opal passed away in November 2005.

Norman is survived by his two daughters, Junelle Foxworth of Anchorage, AK and Donna Pulver and her husband, Mike, of Sedro-Woolley, WA; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Darin Pulver in 1985.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Birchview Memory Care for all the love and support they gave to Norman in his last years.

At his request there will be no services. Inurnment will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville, WA.

Lelia Marie Bly was born on 1 August 1884 in Cresco, Howard, Iowa.1 She and Mervin Eben Yarrington were married on 6 October 1933.2 She died on 21 September 1945, at age 61, in Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa.1 She was buried in New Oregon Cemetery, Cresco, Howard, Iowa.1

OBITUARY.
Lelia Marie Yarrington, oldest of a family of four children, one daughter and three sons, born to the late George M. Bly and wife Susan J. Luce Bly, was born in Cresco, Ia., August 1, 1884. She was married to Herman S. Anderson Nov. 20, 1901 and to this union were born four sons, two of whom have preceded her in death. Luther, passed away May 15, 1927 and Myron on Sept. 3, 1920.
She was married to Mervin E. Yarrington Dec. 6, 1933, who passed away Nov. 8, 1944. Mrs. Yarrington took to her bed August 29, and was a patient sufferer from that time until her death, Sept. 21, at St. Francis hospital, Waterloo at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 20 days. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, always willing to help others in time of need, but God knew best; she will be greatly missed by her friends, neighbors and relatives and all who knew her.
Surviving her are her two sons Herbert of Waterloo and Llewelyn of Warren, Minn., and their wives; one granddaughter, Karen Kay Anderson of Waterloo, and three brothers: Rollo M. of Cresco; Leslie of Granger, and Alvia of Eugene, Oregon; one half sister, Bertha Dinger of Breckenridge, Minn., and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Services were held at the Bradley funeral home Monday, Sept. 24, Rev. Geo. W. Turner, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Interment at New Oregon cemetery.
