Mary Jean Stout, 85, of Royal Oak for 60 years, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at home. She was born Oct. 4, 1921, in Ellsworth, Mich.
Mrs. Stout was a wonderful pianist and knitter who loved to read and play Scrabble. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Royal Oak for more than 50 years and worked for the City of Royal Oak for more than 20 years. She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1938.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard, in 1996. The couple were wed Feb. 16, 1942, in Hollywood, Calif. A son, Andrew, is also deceased.
Surviving are her daughters, Paula Stout of California and Amy (Mike) Lyon of Royal Oak; grandchildren, Sara (Eric) Rodell and Trevor Lyon.
