She was born in Tuscola County on November 18, 1916 to Leo and Maryellen (Harp) Reitz. Gretchen married Arthur McBride on September 29, 1934. She attended and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lapeer where she taught Sunday school for many years. Gretchen loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Carrie Ludwig of Columbiaville; granddaughters, Ramona (Randy) Strobl of Davison and Mary (Dave) Bossenberger of Lapeer; great granddaughter, Miranda Strobl; great grandsons, Matt Strobl and Alan Ludwig; sister, Marlyn (James) Reehl of Kingston; sister-in-law, Margaret Reitz of Flint; also many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur McBride; father, Leo Reitz; mother, Maryellen (Harp) Reitz; brothers, Max Reitz in WWII, Bernard Reitz; sisters Bernice Dersnah, Maxine Webb.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM from First Baptist Church of Lapeer. Pastor Joseph Bower will be officiating. Interment at Rich Township Cemetery.

He married Geraldine Werner on Jan. 13, 1951 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville and retired from Pontiac Motors after 43 years of service. Lawrence was a proud member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Mayville/Vassar VFW Post #10884. He loved to spent time with his grandchildren and enjoyed rabbit hunting, fishing, all sports and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; three children, Sharon (Douglas) Thomas, Larry (Diane) Kitchen and Gary (Lori) Kitchen, all of Mayville; six grandchildren, Shawndel (Duane) Rayl, Kreg Kitchen, Amy (Jason) Hanley, Amanda Thomas, Valerie Thomas and Mathew Kitchen; two great-grandchilden, Tyler and Caitlyn Rayl. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service was at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville with Pastor Terry Balogh officiating. Military Honors were preformed by the Mayville/Vassar VFW Post #10884 and Morrison/Mead American Legion Post #181. Memorials may be made to Mayville St. Paul Lutheran Church. Avran Funeral Home of Mayville assisted the family with the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Howard L.; four sons, Gregory (Portia) Bearden of Vassar, Stephen Bearden of San Francisco, Calif., Geoffrey Bearden of Garden City amd David Bearden of Melvindale; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and a third great grandchild expected soon.

Funeral services were scheduled Tuesday, May 9, at Dayton Center Church, Silverwood, with the Rev. Ernic Hautala officiating.

Burial was to be in Dayton Township Cemetery,

Attangements were made by Krantz Funeral Home, Cass City.

A Rosary was said at 7:30 p.m., Fri. Memorials may be made for the Catholic Masses or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements were by Collon

James Dillon was born on 21 September 1934 in Caro, Tuscola, Michigan. He died on 4 January 2014, at age 79, in East Tawas, Iosco, Michigan. He was buried Cremated.2
James Dillon was a Forester in MDOT.2 James, 79, of East Tawas, MI. passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at his home, following a lingering illness. He was the son of the late Jack and Marjorie (Stout) Dillon.

James was employed by MDOT as a forester for thirty-five years. He loved being with his family, growing flowers and gardening. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter and woodworker.

James is survived by three children and their spouses, Robert & Valerie Dillon of Tucson, Arizona, Brenton Dillon of Englewood, Florida, James & Sandi Dillon of Cheyenne, Wyoming; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Janet Schutz, of Colorado; his sister, Jean Bednarski of Mayville; one brother, John Dillon of Caro; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Bryon Dillon; sister, Jeanette Jaselyn; brother, Jerome Dillon; brother-in-law, Chester Bednarski; three nephews, David, Dean and Jim Bednarski.

In keeping with James' wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Gregg Mayberry officiating.
