OBERLIN -- LeRoy D. "Roy" VanPelt, 63, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009.

He was born July 21, 1945, in Akron, Colo., to LeRoy and Katie VanPelt. He was preceded in death by an infant sister and his parents. Survivors include his wife, Dona, of Oberlin; son, Brian (Shaundell), of Hays; daughter, Lisa (Glenn) Dreiling, of Colwich; brothers, Keith (Maritta), of Oberlin, and Charlie (Jannelle), of Indianola, Neb.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Pauls Funeral Home, Oberlin, with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oberlin, followed by burial in Oberlin Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the LeRoy VanPelt Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
