Born in Bertie Township, Mr. Beam has lived in the area for all his life. He was a welder and self-employed before his retirement in 1982. He is survived by his wife Mary Beam, his children Edward Beam of Ridgeway, Allen Beam and his wife Darlene of Ridgeway and Kathy Penlington of Stevensville as well as numerous step-children. Also survived by grandchildren Marlene and her husband Wally, Charlene and her husband Mr. W. Stubbins and Kim and her husband Greg Grant; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Alfred Beam and his wife Ruth of Baden, Vernon Beam and his wife Mildred of Fort Erie, Irvin Beam and his wife Jean of Ridgeway and Lewis Beam and his wife Doreen of Stevensville. Predeceased by his 1st wife Ruth Beam, an infant son and his parents Menno and Mabel Beam. Mr. Beam's family received visitors at the Port Colborne Chapel of the Davidson Funeral Homes, 135 Clarence St. Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 19, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. until service at 2:00 p.m. at the Reformed Mennonite Church. Interment to follow in the Reformed Mennonite Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.

BEAM, Lewis Emerson - Born September 2, 1925 in Fort Erie. Died March 30, 2007 in his 82nd year. Son of the late Menno D. and Mabel (Krafft) Beam. Lewis was a member of Stevensville Reformed Mennonite Church. Beloved husband and loving companion of Doreen (nee Tripp). Loving father of Kathryn (Gene) Beehler of Stratford, Marvin (Alice) Beam and Merle (Stacie) Beam of Stevensville. Sadly missed by grandchildren Greg (Anna) and Colin Beehler of Stratford, Michael (Michelle) and Bradley Beam, Evan and Madelyn Beam all of Stevensville. Also missed by a dear brother Irvin (Jean) of Ridgeway. Lewis is predeceased by brothers Lester, Alfred (and their wives), Vernon (Mildred) and also by his brother in law Raymond Tripp. Friends may call at THE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 722 Ridge Road North, Ridgeway from 2-4 and 7-9 Monday.
