Peter was born in Humberstone township on the 30th day of December 1842. On reaching his ( )th year, he went to his uncle at Talbotville to learn the blacksmithing. Here he remained for 6 years and then came home to start a shop on the farm. But love was in the air and on the 29th of June 1866, he married Charlotte Fysh, who was born near Nilestown. Then on the following October 1st, they came to Lyons where they made a home and built a shop which he operated until 1924, two years before he died, January 8th 1926. His wife predeceased him October 10th 1920.

* The following two ancestry.com messages have posed a few questions that are partially answered by the 1900 U.S. census (Montevideo, Chippewa County, Minnesota) where Stanley & Elizabeth Fullerton "are living with" John and Caroline Dennis. Have to note though, referring to Stanley as the son-in-law of John Dennis, it must also be noted that Caroline is shown to be the mother of "0" children. Furthermore Elizabeth's p.o.b. is shown as Maryland and d.o.b. November 1880 (she was not the Delina, born 1863, referring to the 1871 Ontario census). In the 1881 Ontario census, John and Caroline were living in Aylmer, Elgin County, "with no children".
Therefore ....
* Does not seem likely that John and Caroline were the parents of Elizabeth (definitely were not Stanley's parents) despite the indication that he was visiting his son-in-law. Despite this there clearly was some connection there!
* As I find nothing other than the 1871 Ontario census to indicate there was an Eleanor, I am guessing that she and Caroline were the same person, her name likely recorded incorrectly by the census taker. This view is based on the fact that Eleanor's estimated y.o.b. was the same as Caroline's, plus the fact that John married Caroline in 1862.
* I find nothing to indicate that Delina Whitaker was a daughter to John Dennis and Eleanor (or Caroline). Unfortunately her relationship to them is not known as this fact is not recorded as part of the 1871 census. It would make more sense that she was just living with them, as was John's younger sister Catherine. Noteworthy that she was recorded with the last name "Whitaker" whereas John, Eleanor and Catherine all had the last name Dennis. Delina's origins are shown as "Scotch" and don't match the others. Could not find her in the 1881 census.

I too am looking for someone who was in this area in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I have pieced together a bit and am sure Caroline Bingleman and John Dennis were married in Middlesex County, Ontario, Canada and went to Minnesota. John had a daughter Delina from his first marriage to an Eleanor. I have recently received an obiturary for a John Dennis where it says he was visiting his son in law Stanley [Fullerton] in St. Paul. I'm wondering if anyone knows who Stanley [Fullerton's] wife was and if this is the John Dennis who was married to Caroline Bingleman. This is some of the information I have entered and need help to determine if it is all correct. Caroline Bingleman's parents were Andrew Bingleman and Mary Shiveley Bingleman, born in Wurtemburg, Germany. John Dennis' parents were Isaac Dennis and Mary Ann Seitz Dennis.
