William Alvin Dennis, Sr., was born on 22 March 1927 in Flint, Genesee, Michigan.2,1 He and Marie Alice Giffel were married on 25 October 1947 in Mt. Morris, Genesee, Michigan.3 He died on 26 April 2010, at age 83, in Estero, Lee, Florida.2 He was buried on 24 May 2010 in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Oakland, Michigan.24

Dennis, William A. Sr. - Age 83, of Estero, FL, died on April 26, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side. He and his wife had been snowbirds from Michigan for 26 years before becoming permanent residents.
Bill was born on March 22, 1927 in Flint, MI, a child of Timothy G. and Florence M. (Tabor) Dennis. He served in the Navy during WWII and was employed for 20 years by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Cecillia's Church, Clare and a former member of St. Robert's Church, Flushing and St. John Vianney Church, Flint. Bill loved outdoor sports including 4 wheeling, deer hunting, boating, and enjoyed all types of dancing, especially square and line dancing.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie A. (née Giffel) Dennis, his children, Diane M. (Jerry) Blevins of Marco Island, FL, William A. (Janet Easton), FL and Deborah A. (Paul) Epke of Flushing, MI, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Robert's Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing. Burial will follow with military honors at the Great Lakes Cemetery.

DENNIS, MARIE A.

Of Flushing, Michigan and Estero, Florida, age 83, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at her home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at St. Robert Catholic Church, Flushing, Michigan. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate. Interment of cremated remains will follow at 2 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Marie was born in Flint, Michigan on May 13, 1929, the daughter of Julius and Emma (Poirier) Giffel. She married William Dennis on October 25,1947 in Mt. Morris, Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 26, 2010. Marie was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church, the Flushing Senior Center and an active member at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Florida, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. A sales person at heart, Marie spent over 40 years of her career in real estate in the Flint area where she also started her own brokerage firm, Bil-Mar Realty. She was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending her time gardening and boating. Marie is survived by her children, Diane and husband Jerry Blevins, William Dennis, Jr. and wife Janet Easton, Timothy J. Dennis, Deborah and husband Paul Epke; grandchildren,Natalie and husband Franco, Jonathan, Nicholas, Christin, Kellie; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Amari, Stella Maria; brother, Wilfred Giffel; beloved dog, Roxie and many nieces and nephews.
