Bernice Hanford Snedaker of Gurnee Friends of Bernice Hanford Snedaker, 98, may call from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. today, at Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. The Rev. Joe Wilcox will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Al, in Warren Cemetery, Gurnee. Born Nov. 29, 1907, in Waukegan, the daughter of Mollie and John "Edward" Drinkwine, she passed away Saturday, June 24, 2006, at her home. On June 9, 1928, Bernice married Albert E. Snedaker. they were married 55 years at the time of his death on Sept. 6, 1983. Bernice and Al were two very special people who touched many lives. They gave freely of themselves and all that they had to all of the people in their lives. Bernice worked for and retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company in 1963 as a supervisor. She loved bowling, crocheting and traveling. She was a member of Gurnee Community Church. Survivors include her sister, Betty Jane Bundsgaard; nieces, Judith Drinkwine, Dara (Ron) Lingle, Jo (Ron) Schroff, Judith (Larry) Foreman, Marylee Neeve and Noreen Sibiski; nephews, Dennis Drinkwine, Bob (Lillian) Byerly and Ed Drinkwine; and many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews. Bernice is also survived by Roselia "Rose" Enoy, a very special woman who lovingly cared for both Bernice and Judy for the past few years. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Al; her parents; and four brothers, Harry "Buddo" Drinkwine, Devert "Teke" Drinkwine, Gerald "Pat" Drinkwine and Leander "Jimmy" Drinkwine.
