Upon graduation she became bookkeeper at Farmers Savings Bank in Pierson, working there until 1940 when she was employed by Woodbury County Savings Bank at Sioux City, IA. In 1941 she was married to Bryce J. Stevens at Hollywood, CA. She has been employed by Security Bank and Surety Savings and Loan in Burbank, CA. For over 25 years she was employed by Valley federal Savings and Loan in Van Nuys, and was a vice president, managing the Loan Processing Department.
FRANCES GODDARD STEVENS
Age 94, of Granada Hills, passed away peacefully on April 9th. She was the first born to the late George F. Goddard and Minnie Goddard, on December 17, 1917, in Hartford, South Dakota. Frances graduated from Pierson High School, Pierson, Iowa in 1935. She married the late Bryce J. Stevens, also from Pierson, in 1941. They made their home in the San Fernando Valley.
Two daughters survived Frances: Cheryl Augustine of Arleta and Diane Parker of Wrightwood. She was also survived by five grandchildren: David Augustine, Todd Augustine, Ryan Augustine, Christopher Glupker and Kimberly Bradbury; and three great grandchildren: David J. Augustine, Cheylee Bradbury and Katie Bradbury. Her son, Jeffrey Jay Stevens, preceded her in death in 1978. Also surviving her are two brothers: Kenneth Goddard and Donald Goddard; and five sisters: Maurine Sobieski, Marjorie Olander, Joann Heise, Bethel Nystrom, Beverly Gaber. Her brother, Dean Goddard, and sister, Jean Reinking Poen Hardie, preceded her in death.
Fran retired from Valley Federal Savings after 31 years of service. She enjoyed traveling, quilting and visiting with family. She was interested in family genealogy and was a member of the Goddard Association of America.

Donald Norwood Villeneuve passed away Oct. 13, 2015, in Gresham. Donald was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Durand, Minn., to George Peter and Agnes (Spybuck) Villeneuve. Donald was a World War II veteran, and he served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Air Corps. Donald received the Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. Donald was a longtime member of the First Covenant Church in Portland. Donald was also a longtime volunteer with SnowCap Charities. He enjoyed traveling, photography and golf. Donald was preceded in death by his son, Leland Villeneuve. Donald is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Yvonne Hall and Jeanine Szidon; stepchildren, Sandra Brydson, Laura Blackwell and Brett, Scott and Erik Kovar; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015, at First Covenant Church, N.E. 45th Avenue and E. Burnside Street, Portland. A private interment will take place in Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Donald's honor to SnowCap Community Charities, P.O. Box 160, Fairview, OR 97024.
