Mrs. Helen Elizabeth Skurski, 35, wife of Joseph Skurski, RD#1 , Starrucca, Pa., died unexpectedly on July 14, 1961. She was born on November 3, 1925, in Brandt, Pa., and was a daughter of Nathan and Myrtle (Ramey) Butts. She had resided in the Starrucca area for 13 years where she and her husband operated a large dairy farm. She was a communicant of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Starrucca, Pa., and a member of the church choir. Mrs. Skurski was also active in the Mountain League Baseball Association. Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by six daughters and one son, Patricia, Sharon, Mary Lou, Barbara Sandra, Susan, and Mark Joseph, all at home. Also surviving are 6 brothers, David, Orson, Pa; Norman, Edward, Walter and Nathan Butts, Susquehanna, Pa; Howard, Starrucca, Pa; 2 Sisters, Mrs. Esther French, Susquehanna, Pa; Mrs. Gertrude Davidson, Binghamton. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mrs. Skurski's funeral was held at the Mumford Funeral Home in Starrucca and in St. Paul's Church, Starrucca, where a Requiem Mass was celebrated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Joseph was a member of St. Paul's Church, Starrucca, PA. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Starrucca before his retirement.

The funeral service was held at Hennessey's Funeral Home, Susquehanna, P A Burial, St Paul's Cemetery, Starrucca, PA.

Patricia A. (Skurski) Mead, 17, of Poyntelle, PA, died on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on November 11, 1944 in Susquehanna, PA, the daughter of Joseph and Helen Skurski.
Patricia Married Bentley L. Mead on June 29, 1963. She retired in 2006 from Camp Poyntelle, where her and Bentley were caretakers for nearly 30 years. She enjoyed spending her time mowing her yard, playing cards, collecting glass water pitchers and going to auctions and yard sales.
Surviving are 2 children, Bentley L. Mead Jr, who is married to Christy Roberts and Sherilyn Oralls, who is married to Walter S Oralls. There are 8 grandchildren, Dana McGraw, Rochelle Mead, Jennifer Mead, Dylan Oralls, Cody Mead, and Danielle, Elaina, And Montanna Miller, and 2 great grandchildren, Huntor Travis, and Calvin McGraw. She is also survived by 5 sisters, Sue Skurski, Barbara Wolf, Sharon Braun, Marylou MacDonald, and Sandy Urban, and 1 brother Mark Skurski. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Bentley Sr., her parents, and grandson in law, Mark McGraw Jr.
Patricia asked to respect her wishes of having no funeral services. There was a luncheon in Starrucca, Pa.
