Esther (Butts) French, 80, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at the Barnes Kasson Hospital after an illness.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Stewart French and son Rickey F rench Sr. Esther is survived by a son, Roger and Mary French; daughter, Elaine and David Conrad; and a daughter-in-law, Catherine French; eight grandchildren, Rickey Jr. and Dawn French, Christina and Franklin Sceranka, Julie and Jason Funk, Wayne Conrad, Nicole Conrad, Shawnee and Chris Baker, Samantha Soules and Taylor Soules; several great-grandchildren ; many special sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and her seven loving dogs and two loving cats.

She was very much loved and will be deeply missed by her family.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014, at 11AM, at t he Hennessey's Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, with Pastor Gary Day officiating. Interment will be held at the North Jackson Cemetery, North Jackson, PA at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6, 2014, from 5 to 8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "True Friends Animal Welfare Center" 16332 SR 706, Montrose PA, 18801, or a charity of one's choice.

Walter J. Butts, Sr., was a Welder in Kasson Hardware Company. Obituary

Walter J. Butts, age 39, was dead on arrival at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital,
Susquehanna, Pa., Wednesday morning Nov. 7, 1979.

He had just arrived at his home in Stevens Point, from his shift at the Kasson Hardware Co., in Binghamton, where he was employed as a welder, when he was taken ill. He was born in Carbondale, Pa., the son of Nathan Butts and Myrtle Ramey. Other than a short enlistment in the Marine Corps in 1959, he had resided in the Stevens Point area.

He was a member of the Stevens Point Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Phyllis Seamanl 5 children, Joseph, Brian, Stevie, Laurie and Jennie; 4 brothers, Edward, Normal, Raymond and Nathan, all of the Susquehanna, Oakland, and Lanesboro area; 2 sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Davidson of Kirkwood, N.Y., and Mrs. Stuart (Esther) French of East Church Street, Susquehanna; also several neices, nephews, uncles and aunts.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m., from the Langford Funera l Chapel, Main St., Susquehanna, with the Rev. J. G. Burt Easton officiating. Burial will be in Brandt, Pa., Cemetery.
