Jim was of Irish descent. His ancestors crossed the ocean on the boat as most immigrants did settling in Dubuque, Iowa and then many to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was proud of his Irish heritage. He served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and Korea. When he was honorably discharged from active duty, he joined the United States Marine Corps unit in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He entered the United States Marine Corps on April 27, 1946 and was discharged on December 6, 1956. He was also extremely proud of his military service. After his Honorable discharge from the United States Marines Corps, he settled in as a sole surviving parent since his first wife Alwyn died when their only child Susan Mary (Gribben) was 7 1/2 months old. He married Irene, his second wife six years after his first wife Alwyn (Benfer) Gribben passed away. He worked for the United States Postal service where he retired in 1987, after twenty-eight years of employment. Two years was added on to his retirement since he had sufficient military service, giving him a thirty year retirement. He was active in several veteran service organizations. He especially enjoyed being part of the color guard in the Department of Wisconsin American Legion. He also belonged to the organization, The Last Man In Korea. He was the last man to pass away in that group.
Jim is survived by his 3rd wife Carolyn, daughters Kelli Gribben and Susan Benfer, stepsons, Ryan, Ian,and Denny,sisters Joan Radke (Walter), Elizabeth Brahm (late Donald) and many family and friends. He became a first time grandfather to Keiana Raechelle, daughter of Kelli nine years after his death.
Jim was a good natured, easy going, likeable Irishman that loved people and an occasional bought of Bailey's Irish Crème or a shot of Irish Whiskey.

Joan was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her and her Firefighter husband, Walter R. Radke aka Wally raised four beautiful daughters together. Upon retirement and after the girls left the nest, Joan and Wally sold their home, bought a camper and traveled the nation. A few years prior to Joan's death, they sold the camper and settled into a beautiful new apartment for seniors in Hartland, Wisconsin where her sister, Elizabeth aka Bette and her spouse Donald Brahm lived. Joan passed away at the age of 67 yeas old. She was the beloved wife and travel companion of Walter Radke for 47 years. Joan was the loving mother of Susan (Tom) McMenamin, Karen (Joesph L.) Udelhofen, Kathy (Tom) Schwarzenberger, Patricia (Robert) Rosnowski. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew Radke, Ryan Andrew, Justin Scott, Stephen Mc Menamin, Tracey,Tommy, Dan, Scott, David, Robert Schwarzenberger and Alyssa Mary Udelhofen, along with many friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Florence (nee Lester) Gribben and her brother, James Anthony(Carolyn)Gribben and a host of many loving relatives and family.

James was a graduate of Arrowhead High School. He was an avid racing fan and a very talented artist. He was survived by his parents Elizabeth "Bette" and Donald Brahm of Hartland, Wisconsin, two brothers, Michael(Mary)and George (Victoria)Brahm along with a son, Robert Brahm (Sandy). He died at the young age of 33 years old from the complications of juvenile onset diabetes. His absence left a big whole in all the hearts of those who loved him.
