George Greer Emerick was born on 7 January 1885 in Curwensville, Clearfield, Pennsylvania.1,2 He and Mabel Ella Wintermute were married on 22 January 1908 in Farr Hollow, Forkston Township, Pennsylvania. He was married on 24 August 1944.3 He died on 24 November 1965, at age 80, in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.2 He was buried in Valley View Cemetery, New Castle, Lawrence, Pennnsylvania.2

George G. Emerick, 80, of 406 Sixth St. died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday in Jameson Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Curwensville Jan. 7, 1885, to the late George and Mary Shearer Emerick. He married former Mable Wintermute Jan. 22, 1908, and she died Aug. 23, 1943. He then married the former Irene McKenrick Aug. 24, 1944, who survives.

Mr. Emerick was a conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad for over 50 years until he retired a few years ago. He was a member of Mahoning Methodist Church and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Henrietta) Fisk of Union City, Pa.; two sons, William W. of New Castle and James F. of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1943; two sons, George in 1950, Roy in 1919; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Davis in 1961; a brother and three sisters.

Friends will be received at the Caskey-Kildoo Funeral Hoome, 101 W. Madison Avenue, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today. The service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home with Rev. James R. Rainey of Mahoning Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery.

Willliam Clark McNeal, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at age 77 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Carolyn Lovejoy McNeal, a daughter, Elizabeth McNeal Darling, and two sons, Steven Clark McNeal and Robert Beattie McNeal and 6 grandchildren. Born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University in 1951. He served as an officer in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1953, he moved to New Orleans where he became a deckhand for Oill Transport Company, Inc., starting a lifelong career in the inland marine industry. After serving as a board member and executive vice president of Oil Transport, he became an independent marine consultant advising towing companies across the United States. He was active in many organizations and was a past Chairman of the Board of the American Waterways operators and a board member of the New Orleans Board of Trade. He served on and chaired numerous Coast Guard-sponsered towing industry advisory committees beginning in the 1960's. He coordinated marine activities for Lundi Gras at the Riverwalk for several decades. He was a member and president pro tem of the Public Belt Railroad Commission and past president of the State Apprenticeship Board. He was active in the Louisiana Republican party, seving for many years as campaign treasurer for Congressman Bob Livingston and was a long-time member or the Republican State Central Committee and the New Orleans Parish Executive Committee. He was a member of various social organizations, a past board member of Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, and a founding member of Woodland Presbyterian Church. NEW HARTFORD - William B. Blatter, 66, of New Hartford, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

He was born June 25, 1934, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the son of Ruth Boyce Blatter and the late William E. Blatter.

He received his MBA degree from New York University.

He served in the National Guard for 10 years.

He married Jaye Dettmann on Aug. 23, 1958, in New York City.

Mr. Blatter was the CFO for Associated Linen Services for 20 years and was the CFO for the Delaware and Otsego Corp. for 10 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a member and former treasurer of the Utica Curling Club, a member of the Rotary Clubs of Utica and Cooperstown, and also served on the United Way.

He is survived by his wife, Jaye of New Hartford; his mother, Ruth of New Hartford; his son, William C. Blatter and Kathleen Bagnoli of Latham; his grandson, William E. Blatter; a daughter, Victoria Blatter and her husband, Michael Tovares, of Annandale, Va.; his mother-in-law, Hanni Dettmann of New York City; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ralph Dettmann of New York City; his aunt, Pauline Emry of Edgewater, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Ruth and Anthony Cupolo, Linda and Jerome Musillo, and David and Nancy Dettmann; and close friends, Bob and Jean Axelson of New Hartford.

Funeral services will be held today at noon at the Friedel, Williams, Coriale & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Road, New Hartford, with the Rev. Bruce Webster officiating. Interment will be in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Queens.
