Lambertville: Angelina T. “Julie” Wintermute, 97, passed away on January 7, at Compassionate Care Hospice at RWJ Hospital-Hamilton.

A lifelong resident of Lambertville, Julie was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, the Young Men’s Athletic Club auxiliary and the Elks Lodge ladies auxiliary. She also worked several jobs throughout the years while raising her family. Julie was the daughter of the late Giovanni Zambella and Maria Gazzillo Zambella; widow of John W. Wintermute; and mother of the late Sandra Blocker. Julie was pre-deceased by her five siblings, Mary Radeer, Jennie Johnson, Katie Toth, Minnie Strouse and Andrew Zambella. She is survived by three sons, David Wintermute, Mark Wintermute and his wife Kristine, Jack Wintermute and his wife Susan. She was a loving Mom-Mom to her grandchildren, John (Holly) Wintermute, Rachel (Seth) Wintermute, Leann (Jake) Newman, Anita (Brennen) Fleming, Michael (Barbie) Wintermute and Darren Reside and great Grandmom to Rose, Roman, Levi, Leah, Monica and Tanya. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a special niece Maryann Casey.

Julie was happiest when baking and cooking for her family and her homemade ravioli dinners were legendary. The family would like to thank the caring staffs at Brandywine Living @ Pennington and Compassionate Care Hospice at RWJ-Hamilton.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12, at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 44 Bridge St, Lambertville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 6-8 pm and at 10:00 am Saturday at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St, Lambertville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, Flemington Family Service Center, 6 Park Ave, Flemington, NJ 08822, or Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, 34 Washington St, Suite 310, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.
