Beloved son of George Hazen and Belle Todd, and brother of Luther Todd Hazen.
From the Oregonian, 25 Nov. 1897:
It is with deepest sadness the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Hazen will learn of the death of their youngest son, Robert Wilson Hazen, who died at their residence, 252 Twelfth Street, at an early hour yesterday morning of pernicious anemia, caused by malarial poisoning, after a lingering illness of several months. It is seldom that one so young, being 9 1/2 years old, had so enshrined himself in the affections of those who knew him. As a child only passing out of babyhood, those tender and quiet characteristics were shown which as to the years came on took definite shape in a loving and dutiful son, a kind, charitable and affectionate playmate and a bright, obedient and thoughtful pupil.
