William Arthur Wintermute was born on 5 November 1956 in Colorado Springs, El Paso, Colorado. He died on 2 June 2018, at age 61, in Saratoga Springs, Saratoga, New York. He was buried in Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, Saratoga, New York.

William A. Wintermute, 61, of Finley Rd. died suddenly Saturday as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Colorado Springs, CO he was the son of Jeanine Wintermute of Clinton and the late William C. Wintermute.
He had resided in Fulton County for many years. Bill was a truck drive r by trade and was currently employed with the Center for Disabilities in Niskayuna.
He was a veteran of the US Navy. He enlisted in the United States Navy on June 30, 1976, and worked as a Machinist Mate aboard the USS Casimir Pulaski (SSBN-633), a James Madison-class ballistic missile submarine. He was honorably discharged on May 7, 1980 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4).
He was the husband of the late Laura Jean Gaydusek Wintermute who also died in the same accident.
He is the father of Marie Garcia of Troy, William Wintermute of Clifton Park, Jennifer Wintermute of Amsterdam, and Jessica Wintermute of Yreka, CA and step father of William Handy II. He is the brother of Kathy Ekter of Portland, OR, Brigitte Ballingall of Los Gatos, CA, Chris Wintermute of Little Falls and Glen Wintermute of Syracuse. 4 Grandchildren also survive.
