* [This is very likely the correct man, Joseph M. Grandstaff, but the Nov 25, 1927 date of death is incorrect. Furthermore referring to "aged 70y", that would make Joseph Grandstaff's death abt. 1918. But note that age is not engraved on the headstone so no idea where that came from.
Attached to this findagrave record are ...
(1) the Death Certificate for a James Grandstaff from 1927 (this is the wrong man).
(2) a pic of the headstone for J. M. Grandstaff (referring to "Co A, 173 Ohio Inf" this would likely be correct), but note that this should be the "178 Ohio Inf" and enlarging the headstone photo, it clearly shows it is engraved 178.]

CRADLE OF FIRE
in Which the Darling of a Household Was Rocked by Death - Sad Bereavement
Emma, the little seven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Parkinson died at the family home in the Third Ward yesterday morning at 5:30 o'clock.
Death, always a dread visitor, in this instance brought deepest sorrow to the hearts of the parents. Saturday morning the little girl was playing by an open grate when her dress took fire and before her mother could get to her, she had been fatally burned.
The mother with frantic haste, tore the little one's dress off but the child had inhaled the flames and death's hand could not be stayed.
The funeral has been arranged to take place tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock from the house. The remains will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
