HOST OF FRIENDS PAY LAST RESPECTS TO MARION DODDER
Marion Kenneth Dodder, eldest son of JOhn and Emma (Eagon) Dodder was born May 16, 1904, on a farm near Overbrook, Kans. As a boy he enjoyed the friendship and association of young people, entered into the social activities of the community where he grew to manhood. He graduated from the Overbrook high school with the class of 1925.
On April 30, 1927, Marion K Dodder and Miss Elsie Reed were united in marriage. They located ona farm in Douglas County for two years and then moved to the present farm home southwest of Overbrook, where they have resided the past fifteen years. Marion was an ambitious and energetic farmer and stockman, loved his work and out-of-door life. He and Mrs Dodder went through high school together, where he was active in the athletic program. He was a member of the Ridgeway Lodge No 62, AF and AM.
He departed this life Saturday, Dec 9, 1944, at St Francis hospital in Topeka after a lingering illness of several months.
Those who survive are his wife, Mrs Elsie Dodder of the home, his parents, Mr and Mrs John Dodder, Overbrook, two brothers, Pvt Glenn Dodder, Fort Knox, Ky., and George Dodder of Overbrook, numerous other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Overbrook Methodist Church, with the pastor, Rev Clayton H Pittman in charge. With Mrs James Sullivan at the piano, duet numbers, "No night There" and "Whispering Hope" were sung by Mrs Elmer Ray and Mrs Teron Bryson. The Masonic burial ritual was read by C C O'Bryhim.
Pall bearers were Harold Huston, Earl Huston, Albert Dodder, R E Tutcher, and Walter Rundle. Burial was in Overbrook cemetery.
Attending the funeral service from out of town were Mrs Orville Michael, MrS W D Miller, Mrs Dan Forbes, Mrs Gussie O'Leary,Mr and Mrs Lloyd Perryman, Miss Camalia Michael, all of Topeka; Mr and Mrs J R Standing, Mrs Jennie Powell, Lawrence; Mr and Mrs Earl Turner, Ottawa: Mrs and Mrs Olin Heffner, Mr and Mrs Nolan Robinson, Baldwin.

Mrs Perryman taught school in Overbrook for many years. She also had been a clerk for the state of Kansas before she retired.
She was born march 11, 1907, at Overbrook, the daughter of Charles Newton and Barbara Blocher Reed.
She married Claude Eagon Perryman on Aug 29, 1945. He died Oct 3, 1975.
no immediate family members survive.
Mrs Perryman was cremated. inurnment services will be at Overbrook Cemetery at a later date.

Elsie married Marion Kenneth Dodder on Saturday, April 30, 1927 in Topeka. They were both graduates of Overbrook High School with the class of 1925. After graduation and before her marriage she was a teacher in the Enterprise district.
Marion died Dec 4, 1944. She married Claude Eagon Perryman Wednesday August 29, 1945 at Olathe. His home was in Pico, California and they made their home there after their marriage. They later returned to Kansas in 1951.

2 Services for George M. Dodder, 91, rural Baldwin, at Worden United Methodist Church. Mr. Dodder died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at Baldwin Care Center. He was born June 20, 1914, in Douglas County, the son of John and Emma Eagon Dodder. He attended school in Cargy. He lived in the Overbrook area for 15 years before he moved to Worden and later to Baldwin in 2002. Mr. Dodder was a farmer and a truck driver. He worked at Forbes Air Force Base and also on building the Kansas Turnpike. He continued to farm and worked at Kansas University with building and grounds maintenance. He attended Worden United Methodist Church. He married Florence Heim on February 12, 1942, in Worden. She survives, of the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Flory, Lawrence, and Marleen Harris, Worden; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, Gary, died earlier.
