HOLLAND TWP. -- Lillian Ellis passed away on Friday, March 2, 2007 at home. She was 85.

Born Aug. 29, 1921 in Cokesbury, a daughter of Ellsworth Earl and Luella Jennie (Sutton) Rounsaville, she lived in Everittstown before moving to Holland Township. She graduated from Frenchtown High School in 1939.

She was a member of Everittstown United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Woman's Society.

She was a store clerk at Riverside Jeans in Frenchtown and prior to that worked as a housekeeper at the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Union Township.

She was also a homemaker and for many years worked her dairy farm with her husband on Ellis Road in Holland. She was a member of the Frenchtown Senior Citizens, enjoyed reading, needle crafts and country music. She loved spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her son, Donald Ellis, in 2001; a brother, William Huddleson; and two sisters, Alice Pinkerton and Dorothy Huddleson.

She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie E. Adams and her husband, Robert of Unityville, Pa. and Connie L. Rockafellow and her husband, William "Rocky" of Holland Township; a brother, Marvin Rounsaville of Northampton, Pa.; a sister, Thelma Wilson of Everittstown; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Everittstown United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Holland Township.

Mrs. MaryCatherine Sutton, 79, native of Cokesbury, N.J., died yesterday in Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, York Pa., where she been a guest for 2 1/2 years.

She moved to York four years ago from Cokesbury.

She was the daughter of the late Abraham and Margaret Hope Lance. Her husband, Harry W. Sutton, Sr., died in 1965.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and the auxiliary of the Herbert Cawley Post, American Legion, High Bridge.

Surviving are a son, Harry W. Jr., of York R.D., Pa, and a granddaughter.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bright's Colonial Funeral Home, Lebanon, N.J. Internment will be in Mountainview Cemetery, Cokesbury, on 8 July 1975.

He was a resident of Glen Gardner for many years, moving to High Bridge 10 months ago. a member of the United Methodist Church, Norton, N.J., he was a former Methodist lay preacher. Surviving are his wife, the former Jenny Hartrum; two sons, Daniel M. Apgar, Clinton and Harold J. Apgar, High Bridge; three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Hankinson and Mrs. Doris Esser, of High Bridge, and Mrs. Wilma Sutton, of Glen Gardner, N.J.; three brothers, Russell, of Lebanon; Harry of Newport News, VA, and Kenneth of High Bridge; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Naughright-Bright Funeral Home, High Bridge. Internment will be in Mountainview Cemetery, Cokesbury, NJ.

Mrs Sutton was born in Cokesbury, a daughter of Louis and Mary Sutton Perry, and lived in Lebanon Township most of her life, moving to Hampton nine years ago. She worked as a shipping clerk for the Taylor Wharton Iron and Steel Company in High Bridge before the plant closed in 1972. She later held clerical positions for the Frelinghuysen Livestock Insurance Company in Whitehouse and the Hagedorn Geriatric Center in Lebanon Township. She was member of the High Bridge Reformed Church and the ladies' guild of the church. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Nagle of High Bridge, and Patricia Suttton of Glen Gardner; a sister, Eleanor Hankinson, of High Bridge and two grandchildren. Services are set for 11 a.m. today in the Scaponi-Bright Funeral home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mountainview Cemetery, Cokesbury. Calling hours were set for 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm yesterday, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the High Bridge Reformed Church.

George was a mason's laborer in 1931, including work on a Cokesbury dairy farm. He worked with the CCC at Voorhees State Park. A navy veteran, he served as lietenant from 1944 to 1946 during WWll. He was in charge of rodent control in the Southwest Pacific, 7th fleet. After the service, he returned briefly to the US Dept. of Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service before returning to NJ Div. of Fish and Game where he retired as chief of the Bureau of Wildlife Management after serving as acting director of the Div. of Fish and Game. He was a member of the High Bridge Methodist Church, Host Lodge #6, F & AM in High Bridge, National Rifle Assoc., Herbert Cawley American Legion Post 188 in High Bridge, Trout Unlimited, the Wildlife Society and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Penn State Alumni Assoc. He was a graduate of High Bridge High School, and a 1938 grad of Penn State Forest Ranger school. He took additional studies in the principles of wildlife conservation and zoology at the University of Missouri and also took courses in malarilogy at the National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda, MD. After graduating from Penn State he worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture combating Dutch elm disease. After a brief stint with the LaBarriers Fish and Game Club in Quebec, Canada, as a guide, forester and game conservator, he began work for the NJ Fish and Wildlife in 1940. He was an avid outdoorsman and professional wildlife management expert. He was instrumental in both deer and turkey restocking programs during in the 1940 through the 1960's in NJ.. He also worked for the formation of the High Bridge Recreation Park in High Bridge. He and his wife, the former Ruth E. Apger, observed their 57th wedding anniversary. George was buried in Pleasant Hill Cem., Chester, NJ.

Ela K. Sutton, 87 died August 19, 2007 in Palatka, Florida. She was born January 20, 1920 in Avery, Mississippi, the youngest of six children of Reverend Martin Kinsey and Annie Smith Kinsey.

Mrs. Sutton worked in an insurance agency in Houston, Texas before attending college in High Point, NC. After graduating, she became one of the first women USDA Inspectors of Fruits and Vegetables. She worked in western New York out of Rochester as well as Gardener, Maine and in Florida with citrus. It was in Florida that she met Frederic Sutton, a returning veteran of World War II. They married June 22, 1947, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and moved to Port St. Joe where Fred was a process engineer with St. Joe Paper Company. Fred went to be with the Lord April 20, 1998.

In Port St. Joe, Mrs. Sutton will be remembered as teaching at the Elementary and Jr. High Schools for 18 years. She was a lifetime member of the First Methodist Church. She worked as a Girl Scout leader for 15 years, was PTA president, and taught Sunday School. She was a member and past president of the High School Band Boosters. She was a member and past President of the Gulf County Retired Educators. She prepared taxes with the AARP tax program for 7 years.

Mrs. Sutton is survived by four daughters and their husbands: Dorothy (Dottie) Wade and husband Gary of Watkinsville, GA, Katherine (Kathie) Bailey and husband Bill, of Orange Park, FL, Freda Sullivan and husband John, of Snellville, GA, and Janet Shaw and husband Wayne of Hawthorne, FL. She leaves five grandchildren: Brian Bailey and wife Jackie, Allison B. Grant and husband Jeffery, Katherine Wade, Frederic Sullivan, and Amanda Sullivan. She also leaves two step-grandsons: Michael Shaw and Bradley Shaw, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of her life was held Friday August 24, 2007 at 3:00 EDT at Port St. Joe First United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mac Fulcher. Burial followed at Holly Hill cemetery.
