Charles Wayne Binion

08/23/2012 — Mr. Charles Wayne Binion, 59, of Grayson, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 26, 2012, in Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born July 2, 1953, in Carter County, a son of the late Ferl Binion and Bertha Rose Binion Huntsman.

Charles Wayne was a Christian and was a member of Local 798 Pipeline Construction for 35 years. He loved NASCAR and was a die-hard Dale Earnhardt fan. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Cecil Huntsman.
Charles Wayne is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jackie Meints Binion; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny and Teresa Binion, Johnny Ray and Connie Barker, and Paul and Julie Huntsman, all of Olive Hill, and Ricky and Gail Huntsman of Grayson; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Fred Collins, Penny and Joe Roark, and Shirley and Ishmel Boggs, all of Olive Hill; and a special friend whom he considered a brother, Jim Crow Binion and his wife, Dianne Binion. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Jeremiah Littleton and Brother Lewis Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll Cemetery on Rattlesnake Ridge in Olive Hill. Friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, and until the service at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164. Daniel Littleton, Jeremiah Littleton, Tweddy Carroll, Sodbuster Roe, Chad Binion, and Lewis Kiser will serve as pallbearers. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.globefc.com.

Dale Arnold Bowden was born at home near Masonville, Iowa on April 20, 1916 the son of Arthur and Jennie Basquin Bowden.

He attended school at the local Haven's and Bowden Country schools. After completing school he began farming. Dale was united in marriage to Alma Broers on March 26, 1939 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dundee. To this union were born three children: Galen, Harlen and Karen. They farmed on one of his parents farms until they purchased Alma's parents farm north of Masonville. They farmed there until Alma's death in 1981. Dale has lived at various places until moving to Independence. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Dundee and was an active member of the Farm Bureau. Dale had many interests, especially helping other seniors and delivered meals to them for several years. He also liked to travel and see the sites, both local and out of state. He also liked working with wood and recycling metal. Dale entered into his eternal rest on Monday, November 15, 2010 after falling at home recently. He was 94 years of age.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife Alma, his second wife Marvel, his son Harlen, his granddaughter Denise, and two sisters Audrey Bowden and Jean Koohy.

Survivors include his special friend Ruby Linsley of Independence; his son Galen (Patsy) Bowden of Lamont; his daughter Karen (Ron) Anderson of Stock Bridge, GA; six grandchildren: Jean Bowden, Cynthia Aponte, Arthur Bowden, Candi Bowden, Shristi Shonka, and Allison Bowden; three great grandchildren: Lisa, Zaladet, and Tevlen; his brother John Bowden of Masonville; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 19, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dundee. Interment will be in the Campton-Oak Hill Cemetery near Lamont. Friends may call from 4 PM until 7 PM Thursday, November 18, at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop and at the Church in Dundee after 10 AM on Friday. Fawcett Funeral Home
