2 ZANESVILLE - Karen Farquhar Hartman, 45, of 1343 Eastman St., passed away at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.
Born April 15, 1960, Karen was the owner/operator of the East End Café and Golden Buns Tanning Salon.
She is survived by her parents, Alfree and June Devore Farquhar; a daughter, Tina Carter of Zanesville; loving companion, Jim "Smitty" Smith of the home; seven brothers, Fred (Elizabeth) Devore of Dover, Howard (Brenda) Murphy of Zanesville, William Murphy of Zanesville, Roger Farquhar of Indiana, Bob (Vicki) Farquhar of Zanesville, Tim Farquhar and Todd Farquhar, both of Zanesville, and Steve (Penny) Farquhar, also of Zanesville; six sisters, Bonnie Sines of Zanesville, Terri (Robert) Smith of Newark, Eva (James) Hastings of Zanesville, Becky (Richard) Reichman of Massillon, Debbie Freeze of Indiana and Bonnie (Mike) Weaver of Indiana; and three grandchildren, Heather, Amber and Anthony. Karen also left behind many friends that loved her and will miss her.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 29, 2005, at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, 56 S. Fifth St.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom England officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Karen was an organ donor.
