2 Emma L. Heinzman, 84, of Phillips, Nebraska died Sunday April 3, 2005 at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Fr. Don Buhrman & Fr. Harry Kurtenbach concelebrating. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2005 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel with a Scripture Wake service at 7:30 p.m. Curran Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Emma was born August 20, 1920, at Comstock, Nebraska, the daughter of John & Pauline (Moravec) Weverka. She grew up and received her education at Comstock. She entered the WAC on March 4, 1944 at Ft. Des Moines, IA. Serving until her discharge on February 22, 1946. She married Victor Chmelka on February 8, 1948 at Omaha Nebraska. The couple lived in Omaha and Emma was employed with a dry cleaning company. Mr. Chmelka died September 4, 1956. She moved to Grand Island in 1958 to be close to her family. She married Dale Heinzman on August 21, 1959 at Grand Island, Nebraska. They lived in Phillips, Nebraska where they farmed.
Emma enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, collecting frog ornaments & chancing her luck at the casinos.
She is a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, the Cathedral Ladies, a lifetime member of the American Legion, D.A.V., Platt Duetsche and Saddle Club.

One Great granddaughter: Amaya
