Burt L. Snover of Fort Collins, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Poudre Valley Hospital.
Mr. Snover was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Appalachin, N.Y., to Victor Snover and Elizabeth "Bowman" Snover. Mr. Snover joined the Army and was a master sergeant in World War II, serving in Alaska. He married Janice F. "Fuess" on April 26, 1947, in Madison, N.Y. Mr. Snover lived 11 1/2 years in Fort Collins, moving from Cooperstown, N.Y.
Mr. Snover was a traffic engineer for the state of New York for 28 years. He built two homes from scratch and restored an 1820s home in Cooperstown. He enjoyed woodworking, golf, coin collecting, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Snover is survived by his wife, Janice; a son, Scott Snover and his wife, Kathy, all of Fort Collins; one brother, Victor Snover, of Endicott, N.Y.; and one granddaughter, Melissa Snover, of England.
Mr. Snover was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Thomas Snover; and a sister, Marie Bartlow.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.

2 Janice F. Snover of Fort Collins, 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 7, 2017, at the Collinwood Assisted Living Facility where she had lived since March. Jan was born June 25, 1925, in Utica, N.Y., to Clyde Fuess and Grace Kimball Fuess. She graduated from the Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, NY and worked as a secretary for the Soil Conservation Service in Canastota, NY. There she met Burt Snover and they were married on April 26, 1947 in Madison, N.Y. They were married for 56 years before he passed in 2004. Mrs. Snover lived in Fort Collins for 24 years, moving from Cooperstown, N.Y. Jan and Burt worked together to build two homes from scratch, restore an 1820's home in Cooperstown, and add their personality to their home in Fort Collins. She was a talented lady who played the organ, sewed many of her clothes, upholstered furniture, painted, quilted, created many needlework and crewel works, and was a great cook and baker. Her positive outlook on life was contagious for everyone who met her and she easily made friendships, many of which were life-long. All of us who knew her have many wonderful memories that we will keep in our hearts. Mrs. Snover is survived by her son, Scott Snover and his wife, Kathy, of Fort Collins, and a granddaughter, Melissa Snover, of England. Mrs. Snover was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one grandchild, Thomas Snover. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 13, at the Allnutt Drake Chapel in Fort Collins with a reception following the service. Marie Bartlow, 83, of Owego, passed away on Monday, Januray 19, 2004. Mrs. Bartlow was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Bartlow; a brother, John Snover, sister, Marguerite Snover. She is surviived by her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Tina Bartlow, Owego; daughter and son-in-law,Janet and Ed Gorski, Leesburg, Va.; grandsons, Michael and Tracy Bartlow, Mike and Penny Bartlow; granddaughter, Katrina and Tim Garland; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Christian Bartlow; two brothers and sister- in-law, Victor Snover, Endicott, Burt and Jan Snover, Fort Colins, Colo.; several nieces and nephews, cousins and her special companion, Alvin Short. Mrs. Bartlow worked many years for the Owego Apalachin School District Cafeteria, and later worked for the village of Owego for over 20 years. She was affectionately know as the "Sewer Lady", upon her retirement, Marie became an avid artist. She was a devoted member of the Gospel Chapel and a volunteer for the Tioga County Council on the Arts. Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and friend, and will be fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Estey & Monroe Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, with the Rev. Loretta Perry officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Marie Bartlow's memory to the Tioga County Boys and Girls Club, P.O. Box 181, Owego, N.Y., 13827.
