Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 20 at the Skeels Church with Rev. Lloyd Richmon officiating with burial in Highland Cemetery.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd; daughter, Dianne (Don) Behnke; and son, Arnold Cassiday.

Dolores will be laid to rest beside her loving husband of over 70 years in Hesperia, California.

Esther May Kleis, age 96 of Oxford, passed away at home on February 19, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Otto D. Kleis. Esther is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Boothe of Oxford and Donna (Joe) Gretka of Hale, MI; Grandchildren, Kelly (Doug) Davis, Brian (Kirsten) Boothe, Kristin (Paul) Conte and Kevin (Kristen) Gretka; Great-grandchildren, Kaden, Gabriel, Chloe, Lily, Kendall, Muriel, P.J., Douglas and Zachary; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Esther was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lena Snover, her twin brother Chester, her brother Richard, and her three sisters, Beulah, Delores and Lucille.

Esther had a passion for the challenge of a good crossword puzzle. She enjoyed many creative talents such as embroidery where she would create keepsakes such as tablecloths, runners, and special wedding mementos for each of her grandchildren. She was an honest and forthright person and enjoyed the simple things in life such as sitting in her backyard while quietly watching the deer, birds and surrounding Michigan nature. Children brought happiness to her heart and there wasn’t a baby she didn’t try to hold. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family knows that they now have a very special guardian angel watching over them.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, February 21st from 5pm to 8pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, MI. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 22nd at 11:00am with Rev. John Ball officiating. Visitation on Monday will take place from 10:00am until the time of service. Interment at Butman Township Cemetery in Gladwin, MI. Memorial contributions to either the American Cancer Society or Hometown Home Health & Hospice are appreciated.

He is survived by his wife, Belva Tewksbury; two sons, Robert Tewksbury, Johnson City, and Howard Tewksbury, Vestal; two daughters, Janet Hassett, Saratoga, and Joyce Henyan, Port Crane; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Joanne C. Brown, 83, of 400 Laurel Blvd., Pottsville, formerly of Jacksonville, Fla., Lake Helen, Fla., and Laceyville, Pa., went home to her Lord on Wednesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.

Born in Mountain Top, July 11, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Kasson and Lucille Wakeman Rair.

She spent her childhood in Mountain Top, Forty Fort and Laceyville because her father worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad. She graduated from Laceyville High School in 1943.

During World War II, she served her country in the Women's Army Corps. During the war, she was also employed at Lancaster Vinyl.

She spent most of her years as a homemaker but was also employed at Place's Family Store and Caswell's IGA in Laceyville.

She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and was actively involved in Skinner's Eddy United Methodist Church, Laceyville, First United Methodist Church, Deland, Fla., Wesconnett United Methodist Jacksonville, Fla., and First United Methodist Church, Pottsville.

She participated in the United Methodist Women at each of these churches and was in the choir at Skinner's Eddy United Methodist Church.

She was a member of the Harmonettes choral group in Lake Helen, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ronald W. Brown, and her brothers, Richard and Bernard.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynne G. Bressi and her husband, Charles, Pottsville; two sons, Gail K. Brown and his wife, Carol, Jacksonville, Fla., and Stephen J. Brown and his wife, Donnalyn, Orange Park, Fla.; two stepchildren, Ronald V. Brown, Middletown, N.Y., and Sharon Chamberlain, Largo, Fla.; her sister, Phyllis J. Singer, Frost Proof, Fla.; her seven granddaughters, Amy Babcock, Sara Bressi Nath, Shannon Greer, Kelly Gleaton, Kristen Brown, Erica Brown and Jessica Brown; eight great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Reilly, Taylor, Sara, Daniel, Jacob, Lauren and Treylyn; two nieces, Claudia McGill, Springfield, Mo., and Jacklyn Espinoza, Clewiston, Fla.; and her faithful companion, Buster Brown.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date at First United Methodist Church, Pottsville. The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions made either to the Pottsville branch of the Salvation Army, 400 Sanderson St., Pottsville, PA 17901, or Mercy Mission, First United Methodist Church, Fourth and West Market streets, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be in the Lacey Street Cemetery, Laceyville.
