Charles R. Snover, 93, of Butman Township, died Saturday morning, Dec. 16, at the Gladwin Nursing Home following an illness of several months. Services were held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Miner Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Briggs officiating. Burial was in the Butman Township Cemetery.
Mr. Snover wasborn in Sanilac County Sept. 5, 1874, and came to Gladwin County with his parents 73 years ago, when he was 20 years old, and lived here since. He and the former Lena Brown were married April 12, 1903, in Gladwin County. He was a retired farmer and also operated the general store at Skeels for 20 years from 1925 to 1945. Survivors are his wife, Lena; two sons, Richard of Flint and Chester of Gladwin; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Dolores) Cassidy of Los Angeles, Mrs. Otto (Esther) Kleiss of East Detroit, and Mrs. Henry (Lucille) James of Roseville; 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Lena Mae Snover, 86, of Butman Township, died Friday, Jan. 26 at 3:15 a.m. at the Gladwin Nursing Home. Born in Sanilac County March 6, 1881, the former Miss Lena Mae Brown came to Gladwin County with her parents when she was two years old, and had spent the rest of her lifetime here. She was married to Charles Snover April 12, 1903, in Gladwin, who preceded her in death six weeks ago, Dec. 16, 1967.
Mrs. Snover is survived by two sons, Richard of Flint, and Chester, of Gladwin; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd (Delores) Cassidy of Flint, Mrs. Otto (Esther) Kleis of East Detroit, Mrs. Henry (Lucille) James of Roseville; 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. One daughter is deceased. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Miner Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Briggs officiating and burial was in the Butman Cemetery.
