Shirley May Predmore was born on 26 September 1921 in East Stroudsburg, Monroe, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4 She died on 2 November 2007, at age 86, in Berwick, Columbia, Pennsylvania.3 She was buried in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, Monroe, Pennsylvania.4
Shirley May Predmore was a Retail Clerk-A. B. Wyckoff/ Secretary Justice of Peace.4 Shirley M. Hay, 86, died Friday, Nov. 2, in Keene, N.H., with her family at her side. An East Stroudsburg native, Shirley had split her residency between Keene and Berwick since 2003.

She was predeceased by her husband, William H. Hay II, on Sept. 28, 1985.

Born on Sept. 26, 1921, in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of the late Ford and Florence M. (Noack) Predmore.

For many years Shirley was a world-class retail clerk at A.B. Wyckoff's. She also was a secretary for Justice of the Peace Herb Bonser and at the Pocono Hay-ven. After her retirement, Shirley was a committed volunteer for several charitable and civic organizations, including Red Cross blood drives and election boards.

Shirley enjoyed doing handwork of all kinds and was an exceptional, generous knitter.

She attended Keene Unitarian Universalist Church and East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church.

Shirley is survived by a son, William H. Hay III and his wife, Susan, of Keene, N.H.; a daughter, Kathy H. Bohl and her husband, Don, of Berwick; a sister, Kathryn L. Herr of Wilmington, Del.; and a brother, Ford J. Predmore of Resica Falls. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Heather A. Hughes-Cote, Sean P. Hughes, Erin H. Bohl, Tyson R. Bohl, Justin W. Bohl and Reilly A. Hay; several nieces and nephews; and her five wicked-cute great-grandchildren, Austin Hughes, twins Kate and Ryan Hughes, Adam Molick and Reese Cote. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Betty Warner.

Family and friends are invited to a calling period from 10 to 11 a.m. Fri., Nov. 9, at the Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the SPCA of Pennsylvania, RR 1, Box 1237, Stroudsburg PA 18360.

Biography

Kathryn Louise (Kay) Predmore was born on 2 April 1923 in Montrose, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.1,2 She and Carson Ruhl Herr were married about 1952.3 She died on 22 December 2010, at age 87, in Wilmington Manor, New Castle, Delaware.3
Kathryn Louise (Kay) Predmore was educated East Stroudsburg University.3 She was a Teacher.3 Kathryn (Kay) L. Herr, 87, passed away peacefully at Shipley Manor in Wilmington, Delaware on December 22, 2010 with her loving family at her side.

Born April 2, 1923 in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Florence and Ford Predmore.

Kay graduated from East Stroudsburg High School and received her B.S. in Education in 1945 from East Stroudsburg University. She began her teaching career in Somerville, New Jersey. She moved to Delaware in 1951 and taught first grade in the Mt. Pleasant Special School District. After taking a number of years off to raise her daughters, Kay returned to teaching in the Claymont School District. Her last years of teaching were in the Chapter I Reading Program. She retired from the Brandywine School District in 1989.

Kay was a very active member of the community. She was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she served as elder, deacon, choir member, and on numerous other church committees. Over the years, Kay also did volunteer work with the Ashbourne Hills Civic Association, Claymont Community Center, American Cancer Society, Clothing Bank of Delaware, and the Emmanuel Dining Room. When her daughters were young, she was a girl scout leader and a dedicated school volunteer She frequently visited the sick and homebound and took them meals and drove them to appointments. In her free time, Kay enjoyed doing crafts and, especially, quilting. Kay’s caring nature and sense of humor will be missed by many.

Kay is survived by her husband of 58 years, Carson; two daughters, Deborah Schrass and her husband Carl and Wendy Barba and her husband Joe; and three grandchildren, Karl Schrass, Casey Barba, and Melanie Barba. She is also survived by a brother, Ford J. Predmore of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two sisters, Betty Warner and Shirley Hay.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on January 2, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1120 Darley Road, Wilmington, Delaware 19810.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church. K.

Robert M. Predmore was born on 23 August 1922 in Montrose, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.1,2 He and Jane E. Mery were married on 23 May 1943.3 He died on 6 June 2003, at age 80, in East Stroudsburg, Monroe, Pennsylvania.2 He was buried in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, Monroe, Pennsylvania.4
U.S. Army- National Guard- WWll- 17 Feb 1941. Robert M. Predmore was an Employee LaBar Nursery/ Custodian East Stroudsburg School District. Robert M. Predmore, 80, of East Stroudsburg, died early Friday morning, June 6, in his home. He was the husband of Jane E. (Mery) Predmore, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on May 23.

Born on Aug. 23, 1922, in Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Luke and Florence (Heller) Predmore. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

Retiring in 1966, he was employed at LaBar Nursury in Stroudsburg and then as custodian at East Stroudsburg School District.

A veteran of World War ll, he served in the U.S. Army receiving the Purple Heart and numerous other medals.

Bob was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Stroudsburg; Thomas P. Lambert Post 2540 Veterans of Foreign Wars, East Stroudsburg; 28th Division Society; and Disabled American Veterans. He was also a former scout master of Boy Scouts of America Troop 97 which met at Grace Lutheran Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Stephen R. Predmore and his wife, Susan of East Stroudsburg; two granddaughters, Jodi Pustay of East Stroudsburg and Shelli Keller of Allentown; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Allison and Rachel; his twin sister, Roberta Otto of Stroudsburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceded in death by one sister, Grace Tanner.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, at William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. The Rev. Kathleen Ash-Flashner will officiate. Burial follows in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.

There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until time of the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 Lackawanna Ave., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301; or VNA Hospice of Monroe County, 502 Independence Road. East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
