Ensley H. Predmore, 82, of Portland, died on Monday, June 19, at Clover Rest Home, in Knowlton Township, N.J. He was married to the former Virginia Davies, who died in 1982.
Born on March 12, 1924, in Smithfield Township, he was the son of the late Charles and Nettie Custard Predmore.
He was employed as a signal maintainer for the former Delaware Lackawanna & Western Railroad and NJ Transit for 42 years, retiring in 1984.
He was an avid flower gardener and loved restoring pieces of railroad memorabilia.
He was a graduate of Portland High School.
He was a former member of Community Presbyterian Church in Portland. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman.
He is survived by three daughters, Kathy Predmore of Wind Gap, Debby Takacs and her husband, Bobby, of Portland and Sandy Cammarata and her husband, Joseph, of Columbia, N.J.; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Bell, of Lake Ariel.
Three brothers, Lewis, Lawrence and Dean Predmore, and a sister, Lorraine Predmore, all died earlier.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, in Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Ave., in Portland.
