Robert Clayton Cook, aged 65 years, died at his home on West Tioga street July 26, 1907, at about 2:30 a.m. Mr. Cook was stricken with paralysis more than three years ago, and has been an invalid ever since. The last months of his life were marked by constant suffering, necessitating unceasing care upon the part of his wife and other members of his family.
Mr. Cook was born near Blairstown, N.J., but when he was eight years of age his parents moved to a farm near Meshoppen. At the age of twenty-one he went to Wilkes-Barre to work. In 1867 he was married to Miss Elizabeth Armstrong, who survives, with their only child, Mrs. Charles W. Space. For about nineteen years they lived on a farm near Meshoppen but eleven years ago came to Tunkhannock, where Mr. Cook embarked in the furniture and undertaking business. Since the failing of his health he sold out to B. O. Sheldon.
Mr. Cook had been a member of the Presbyterian church from young manhood and was an upright, respected citizen, enjoying the confidence of all. The funeral services were held at the house on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A.J. Herries, and interment made at Sunnyside. The Odd Fellows, of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body and conducted ritualistic services at the grave.
