GEORGE ADAM HILLPOT (HELLEBART) Came from Durham Twp. Born 1734, I have no direct record of the birth, but there is a confirmation record on November 5, 1749 at New Hanover Lutheran Church that says he was 15 years of age.

The first recorded marriage at the Tinicum Lutheran Church was on April 10, 1759. The marriage was of George Adam Hillpot to Maria Phillippina Schnauffer by Reverend Johann Wolf Litzel, who later was the pastor at Salisbury Church near Allentown.

Maria was born August 22, 1740 the daughter of Johannis Schnauffer. She died August 16, 1807. Confirmed Anno 1757, June 18 Maria Phillippina Schauber, dr. Johannis,, from New Jersey, age 16 years 6 months. Recorded in the Trappe Lutheran records. N.J. Archives Will of Johannes Schnauber, Maria Phillipina was listed but not her married name).

In an effort to figure out Georg's life a time line was developed. After his Confirmation in 1749, the next church record was that of 1754, at New Hanover Lutheran Church where he and Elizabeth Markler sponsor the baptism of Philip and Magdalena Erwer's child. No other information was found until his marriage, where he turned up in the Tinicum Area. Then George and his wife sponsor many baptisms at Tinicum and Keller Lutheran Church. December 4, 1775, Tinicum Twp. Page 72, George Helpot has 150 acres of land, 2 horses, 3 cattle, and 8 sheep.

His Last Will And Testament was made 16, February 1777. The Will starts off with being very weak and sick but of sound and disposing mind. The Will continues with his beloved wife may stay on his plantation until their son Johannes becomes 21 years of age. The property was appraised on May 23, 1777. The inventory contains many kinds of material, and yarn, more than one would expect in a household. A large bible is also noted. There is mentioned a number of notes and bonds including 2 notes and 1 bond to Adam Earnst and a debt due from Adam that is considered insolvent. This will be explained in #5 Eva Caterina. The Will was proven May 20, 1782. The value of George Adams estate was about 1,000 pounds, rather significant at that time. Although George Adam is buried at he Hillpot Cemetery, and is recorded as the tombstone as September 1777 at 41 years of age, I was unable to read this, and I believe he died between February 16, and May 23, when his Will was made to when it was appraised. In Battle's Bucks County, it says that George Adam died as a result of a fever contracted during the Revolutionary War, however I see no indication at this time that he was involved in the conflict. In 1780, the Will as it was proven showed the land to be 190.25 acres. George Adam was buried by the original log church which came to be known as the Hillpot Cemetery, in Tinicum Twp.

In 1780 Maria Phillipina Schnauffer Hellepart married 2nd Killiam Kressler, he was born June 23, 1746. Maria died August 16, 1807 and is buried next to George Adam Hillpot and Kellian Krallar who died June 23, 1815. Her tombstone reads: Mary Krasler Aug. 22, 1740 - Aug. 16. 1807

Samuel, the third child, married Eve Trauger, of this county, and they were the parents of four children : Joseph, a clergyman ; Hannah (Mrs. Grouver), Jacob T. and Susanna (Mrs. Ahlum).
