ALLENTOWN, PA. -- Salvatore "Sam, Sal" Amore, 79, died on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Phoebe Home, Allentown.

Born in Easton, Pa., he was a son of the late Angelo and Jennie Amore.

He and his wife, the former Joyce B. Snover were married for 59 years, last October. He worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad for 14 years, Packaging Corp. of America, Trexlertown, Pa., for 10 years, and the Wedgewood Gold Course.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he served with the Navy's Seabees in the Southwest Pacific Theatre.

He was a member of the VFW Post 09264, West End Veteran's Association (Howard L. Peter Post 576), was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was co-founder of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Zipper Club and as a heart transplant recipient in April of 1989, was also a member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Coalition for Organ and Tissue Donation (Gift of Life).

In addition to his wife, Joyce, he is survived by three sons, Bruce of Pen Argyl, Pa., John of Phillipsburg, Robert of New Tripoli, Pa.; two sisters, Blanche Scalora of Vero Beach, Fla., Josephine Nehila of Perry Hill, Md.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Nativity Lutheran Church, Allentown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nativity Lutheran Church Building Fund, or to the Gift of Life in Sal's name.

Stanley Snover Sr., 64, of Broad St., Phillipsburg, formerly of Bloomsbury, N.J., died March 18 in his home. He was the husband of Jane (Brown) Snover for 40 years. He was a serviceman for Elizabethtown Gas from 1966-98. Prior to that, he worked for Olympic Products, Alpha, N.J. Born in Stewartsville, N.J., he was a son of Mabel (Gunderman) Snover of Allentown, and the late John Snover. He was a member of Stewartsville Lutheran Church. He served in the Army National Guard, Company A, 250th Tank Battalion, Phillipsburg.

Survivors: Wife; mother; sons, Stanley Jr. of Phillipsburg, Harry of Bloomsbury; daughter, Robin Mason of Phillipsburg; brothers, Kenneth of Bethlehem, Karl of Fort Payne, Ala., Ernest of Phillipsburg; sister, Joyce Amore of Wescosville; a granddaughter; nieces, nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Rush-Devlin Funeral Home, 42 Church St., Bloomsbury. Call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
