Services: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, St. Matthew Catholic Church by the Rev. Steve Garner. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m., Monday at the Teahen Funeral Home where friends may visit with the family following the rosary until 7 p.m., and Tuesday at the church after 9:30 a.m.

Betty is survived by her sons, Stephen McGrane of St. Paul, MN and David (Cheryl) Ramm of Keystone; daughters, Linda (Keith) Weber of Toddville, Beverly (Gary) Kotowske, Connie Fillenworth and Jane Ramm all of Cedar Rapids; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; her sister Mary Kalisch of Cedar Rapids; a brother, James (Diane) Kinder of Little Canada, MN; and a daughter-in-law Sue Ramm of Cedar Rapids.

Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Sylvester McGrane and Gerald Ramm, a brother, Wesley and his wife Annette, and a son-in-law Terry Fillenworth.

Betty was born the daughter of Wesley and Elizabeth Burke Kinder on October 15, 1923 in Dubuque, and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School there. She moved to Cedar Rapids in 1954.

She married Sylvester McGrane in 1950 and following his death in 1984 she married Gerry Ramm on July 31, 1987 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 2011.

Betty retired as a information specialist for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 1986 after 28 years. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church,

Betty had a great love for her Lord and loved to collect angels. She spent her quiet time reading, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed attending the theatre, dancing, and playing bridge with her friends. She was kind and will be remembered for her love of everyone, making cookies, and her wonderful margaritas. She was a very courageous and strong person who spent many years as a volunteer with the American Red Cross, and the American Cancer Discovery Shop.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke’s Hospice and Living Center West for all of their loving and gentle care.

Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diane; 6 children: Margaret Kinder, Judy (Sam) Stone, Mary (Joe) Huss, Joseph (Kris) Kinder, Catherine (Noel) Wareham and William (Jill) Kinder; 9 grandchildren: Sean, Julia, Jim, Cate, Danielle, Ella, Emma, Nadina and Bobby. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Mary Kalisch along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was born in Dubuque, IA on November 2, 1925 and was dedicated to his family and to his faith. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII and returned home to start his family. He loved to travel together with Diane. Jim will be remembered for his quick wit and his deep love for his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Elizabeth; his brother, Wesley and sister, Elizabeth. Jim was a parishioner of St. John's the Evangelist of Little Canada.

Elaine Mae Galati, 82, of Heritage Village Health Care Center, formerly of 3345 Busti-Stillwater Road, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 25, 2003) in the facility.
She was born Aug. 27, 1920 in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Irwin and Vashti Smith Stanley.

She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Women's Corps. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Jamestown Food Specialties, which was the original distributor of Troyer Farm Potato Chips in Chautauqua County. She was a past president of the Busti Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, a member of the Home Bureau and the Busti Golden Agers.

She is survived by a son, David Galati of Jamestown; three daughters: Joan Miktuk of Rock Hill, S.C., Judith Newberg of New Bern, N.C., and Lori Bova of Jamestown; 10 grandchildren: Michael, Robert and Christine Bova, all of Jamestown, Mark and Scott Miktuk, both of Rock Hill, Jeff Galati of Mooresville, N.C., John ''Jay'' Galati of Jamestown, Bonnie McAuliffe of Owings Mills, Md., Rebecca Jones of Northeast, Pa., and Jennifer Newberg of Lititz, Pa.; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Galati, whom she married June 4, 1944, and who died April 4, 1997; an infant daughter, Muriel Elaine Galati; and her stepfather, James Parkey.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Hubert Funeral Home. Msgr. Joseph M. Dowdell, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

SAVANNA, Ill. -- Hurbert Roy "Wimpy" Robinson, 86, of Savanna, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center North Clinton, Iowa, following an extended illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna, with the Rev. Dennis Atto officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, where there will be a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.

He was born on May 22, 1921, in Miles, Iowa, son of George and Elizabeth (Smith) Robinson. He graduated from Sabula High School, class of 1939.

He married Germaine Heitkamp on Sept. 10, 1946, in Menominee, Ill.

Wimpy retired from the Savanna Army Depot. He owned "Wimpy's Mobile Service Station and Robinson's DX Service Station in Savanna. He also was a retired Savanna Township Supervisor.

Wimpy was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, he belonged to the Savanna Knights of Columbus since 1959 and was a third and fourth-degree Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of the Savanna Moose Lodge 1095 since 1958, and a past member of the Savanna Chamber of Commerce.

He very much enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing for relaxation and dancing.

Surviving are his wife, Germaine, of Savanna; two sons, William (Diane) Robinson, of Savanna, and Thomas (Joy) Robinson, of Waukesha, Wis.; a daughter, Joyce (Tom) Tegler, of Albany, Ill.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, George W. Robinson, of Sabula; two sisters, Helen Brooks, of Clinton, and Betty (Victor) Brundage of Sabula.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial fund has been established in Wimpy's name.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday June 30th at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton, Iowa. Visitation will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM until the service hour at the church. Casket bearers will be Christopher Snyder, Bill Meszaros, Bill Robinson, Bryan Robinson, Paul Robinson, and Jason Werner. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery following the service.

Helen was born on May 8, 1923, in Miles, Iowa, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Smith) Robinson.

She married Jack Brooks on Aug. 31, 1941 in Missouri.

She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton, Iowa.

Helen and her husband Jack owned and operated the Ten Mile tavern outside of Bryant, IA for many years.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Clinton.

Helen is survived by her son, Richard Brooks of St. Charles, MO, her daughter, Barbara Snyder of Elk Grove Village, IL; two grandchildren Christopher (Colleen) Snyder and Sherry (Bill) Meszaros, two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Mackenzie Meszaros; her brother, George Robinson of Sabula, IA; her sister, Betty (Victor) Brundage of Sabula, IA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her parents, brother, Hubert (Wimpy) Robinson, and son-in-law, Ernie Snyder.
