Richard Martin Bodeis was a Carlings Brewery/ Zeilingers Beverages.1 Richard Martin Bodeis, age 86, of Mayville, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at McLaren Lapeer Regional Hospital of Sepsis.

He was born July 25, 1934 in Mayville, to the late William H. and Laura P. (Goetz) Bodeis. Richard was a graduate of Mayville High School with the Class of 1953. He married Marilyn Jane Walker on September 11, 1954 in the parsonage of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Vassar. Richard worked for Carlings Brewrey, Zeilingers Beverages, hauled milk on the weekends, drove truck over the road, and helped on the farm where he lived. He was baptized September 2, 1932 and was received into full communion at St Paul's Lutheran Church of Mayville by the solemn rite of Confirmation on the 16th day of April, 1948. Richard volunteered on both Mayville and Frankenmuth Fire Departments. He enjoyed fishing, Euchre, deer hunting, and sharing good times with family and friends.

Richard is survived by his children, Karen (Michael) Weiss of Frankenmuth, Krystal (Mitchell) LaBair of Mayville, Kimberly (Ronald) Arnold of Caro; brother, Clare (Ruth) Bodeis of Beaverton; sister, Ida Richmond of Caro; sisters-in-law, Beverly Brief, Ann Spannagel, Carrol Cryderman and Carolyn Walker; brother-in-law, Gary Bodeis; grandchildren, Julie Weiss, Jeremy (Jolene) Weiss, Jeffrey (Ronda) Weiss, Carla (Paul) Schultz, Seth (Missy) LaBair, Sarah (Steve) Brockett, Andy (Allison) Hecht, and Matthew (Vanessa) Hecht; and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn in 2015; his parents; grandson, Jason Rumph; son-in-law, Kevin Hecht; brothers, Ralph (Margaret), Walter (Gwendolyn), Leonard (Choe) and Howard (Francis); sister, Wanda (Harold) Marshall; brothers-in-law, James Brief Sr., James Spannagel, Gayland Cryderman and Keith Walker; sister-in-law, Carol Bodeis.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Fremont Township Cemetery with Pastor Terry Balogh officiating.

Burial will take place in Fremont Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Luke's Lutheran School of Vassar, and Michigan Lutheran Seminary of Saginaw.
