She was a graduate of Georgetown University, Columbia University, and La Sierra University. She served 29 years in the US government, 10 years in the US Department of the Treasury in Washington DC, where she worked as the private secretary to the director of the US Mint, and 19 years with the Department of Agriculture in Florida. Edna was a coordinator for the Friends of the Library Volunteers at the Sebring public library, and volunteered for three years as an auxiliary at the Heartland Medical Center hospital. She was a member of the Mineral & Gem Club in Sebring. She was very active with the Maranatha Christian Peace Corp. and served on mission tours in Peru. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rose; her brother, David Soper; and her sisters, Lois Vough and Hazel Van Gilder. She will be sadly missed by her sisters, June Russell of Clearlake and Ruby Massari; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Inurnment at Lakeview Memorial Park in Avon Park, FL.

Margaret Virginia Soper, 87, of Frederick County, died Thursday, April 8, 2004, at a local nursing home.
Mrs. Soper was born Sept. 26, 1916, in St. Paul, Minn. She was an accountant for the City of Winchester and retired after 20 years. She had formerly been a consultant for H&R Block.
She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
She married David Robert Soper in 1964 at Mount Vernon.
Surviving with her husband, are two children, Betty Larkin of Dublin and David Allen Soper of Colesville, Md.; two sisters, six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A brother is deceased.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, Winchester, with the Rev. D. Rhodes Woolly officiating. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of Robert Moody and Macie Soper Hall, Sr. He was an Army veteran of World War ll and a retired butcher. He was a member of Willingham Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Irene Whitaker Hall; four sons, Sam Hall of Asheville, David Hall of Hampton, Ga., Johnny Hall of Jonesboro, Ga., and Bobby Hall of Palmertto, Ga.; his stepmother, Syble Hall of Hazelwood; a sister, Ann Elizabeth Medford of Clyde; three grandchildren anf two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be 4 p.m. Friday in the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The Rev. James H. Black will officiate. Burial will be in Cane Creek Cemetery.

Clyde-Ann Hall Medford, age 77, of the Medford Farm Community, Old Clyde Road, died Wednesday morning at the Britthaven Nursing Home.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Moody and Macie Soper Hall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene B. Medford, who died in 1998. She was a member of Clyde First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Ann Flood and her husband, Robert of Beardstown, IL and Patricia Ledford and her husband, Doug of Concord, GA; a son, Steven Medford and his wife, Pamela, of Williamsburg, VA; four grandchildren, John and Jamie Flood, Dustin Ledford, and Caroline Medford.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2001 at the Clyde First Baptist Church with Reverend William O. Henson, Reverend James Parham, and Reverend Jerry Harwell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon till 1:45 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the fellowship hall of Clyde First Baptist Church.
