Biography

Clair Floyd Vough was born on 10 April 1911 in Overton, Bradford, Pennsylvania.2,3,1 He died on 25 November 1988, at age 77, in Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky.3
Clair Floyd Vough was educated Wilkes-Barre Business College.1 He was a Vice President- IBM.1 CLAIR F. VOUGH, 77, who was instrumental in bringing IBM to Lexington, Ky. Died Nov. 25, 1988 at St. Joseph Hospital (Ky.) after a long illness. He was born in Overton, Pa. on April 10, 1911, a son of Ira and Helen Musselman Vough. He graduated from New Albany High School, class of 1928. He attended Wilkes-Barre Business College before joining IBM. Mr. Vough spent more than 40 years with International Business Machines Corp. rising from an employee on the assembly bench to a vice president. He was involved in the Boy Scouts on a local and national level. He was a member-at-large of the National Council of Boy Scouts of America and he helped raise money to start Camp McKee Boy Scout Camp where Vough Lake carries his name. Mr. Vough retired in 1975 as vice president of manufacturing for the office products division and director of world trade manufacturing. After retirement he wrote a book “Productivity” in which he charted the progress of IBM typewriter manufacturing from 1957 to 1967. He was active in many business and civic organizations. Mr. Vough was predeceased by a brother, Lynn M. Vough of Endicott, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Lois Vough; a daughter, Audrey Vough of Lexington and a son, Gary D. Vough of Lexington; a sister, Grace Treaster of Dushore; a granddaughter, Heather Vough of Lexington and three nephews. A funeral service was held in Southland, Ky. Audrey Ann Vough was born on 19 October 1938 in Endicott, Broome, New York.1,2,3 She died on 18 December 2002, at age 64.3 She was buried in Lexington Cemetery, Lexington, Fayette, Kentucky.4
Audrey Ann Vough was a Transylvania University Librarian.2 She was educated University of Kentucky.2 She was awarded a Library Science.2 Audrey Ann Vough 64, former librarian with Transylvania University, died Wednesday, December 18, 2002. Born in Endicott, NY, she was a daughter of the late Clair F. and Lois Soper Vough. She received her Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of Kentucky, was a former treasurer for Mensa and a fifteen-year treasurer for the Lexington Travel Club. She was an active volunteer at the computer center, a reader for the Central Kentucky Radio Eye, and Friends of the Library Boooksales. An extensive traveler, she also held interests in competitive ballroom dancing, the bowling league, bridge, and was a post card collector. She is survived by a brother, Gary (Cindy) Vough, Nicholasville; niece, Heather Ciara Vough, Urbana Champaign, IL; and several aunts and uncles. A sister, Linda Lois Vough, preceded her in death. Services will be 10 AM Saturday at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland conducted by Rev. Susan Warren. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM today. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1941 Bishop Lane, Suite 110, Louisville, KY, 40218.
