Alexander Lang, Lansing police officer, who was killed early Friday morning in Lansing, was a former Mason resident. He was a member of Co. F, 31st Michigan Infantry during the Spanish American War. Patrolman Lang was marking parking lines on a Lansing street when he was struck and killed by an autombile driven by Elmer Marvin, prominent Lansing professional baseball player.

The officer who was killed has many relatives here. Two brothers, Andrew Lang and James Lang, and a sister, Mrs. Elmer Strope, reside here as well as many nieces and nephews. A nephew, Keith Lang, also formerly of Mason, was a brother officer of his uncle on the Lansing pollice force.

Funeral services for the officer were held Sunday. Burial was in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Holt.
