Sharon Sue Ladassor was born on 18 June 1937 in Luverne, Rock, Minnesota.

3 Sharon Aning, 70, of Sioux Falls, died Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Dougherty Hospice House, Home of Avera McKennan Hospice, following a brave 7 year battle with cancer. Sharon Sue was born June 18, 1937 to Al and Kathleen (Baker) LaDassor in Luverne, MN. At a very early age, she was adopted by her grandparents, Ed and Martha (Wahlert) Baker of Luverne, MN. She grew up in Luverne where she received her education, graduating from Luverne High School in 1955. She worked at a drive-in as a car hop and at the Luverne Telephone Company.
On January 14, 1956, she was united in marriage with Ben Aning at Luverne, MN. The couple lived in Luverne for one month, from 1956 to 1959 in Sioux Falls, and bought a home in Brandon, SD in 1959. In 1962, they bought a home in Sioux Falls where they were living at the time of her death.
Sharon was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and a member of Local Union 304A Retirees. She enjoyed going to the Retirees luncheon Club and being a member of AARP. She also enjoyed raising her family, traveling and fishing with Mart and Bake, old time dancing, picnics, band concerts, and attending Sioux Falls Skyforce basketball games. At one point, she had attended 187 consecutive home games. Sharon was the "Rock" of the family and was considered by all of her family to be an excellent wife, mother, grandmother, and a fabulous cook. When it came to traveling, Sharon particularly enjoyed trips with the family, and also trips made to Minot, ND for the Hostfest, and trips made to Branson, MO and Nashville, TN.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Ben Aning, Sr. of Sioux Falls, SD; her children, Julie Aning, Nancy Aiken, and Ben Aning, Jr., all of Sioux Falls, and Deb (Tom) Conklin, of The Dalles, OR; 5 grandchildren, Chris and Stephanie Aiken of Sioux Falls, SD, Luke, Katie and Justin Conklin of The Dalles, Oregon; and her father, Al LaDassor, of George, IA.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her mother.
Funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Intombment will be in the Hills of Rest Mausoleum.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, with the family present to greet friends from 6:30 - 8:00 Wednesday evening. Visitation will continue all day Thursday at the funeral home.
