Sharon Sue was born June 18, 1937 to Al and Kathleen (Baker) LaDassor in Luverne, MN. At a very early age, she was adopted by her grandparents, Ed and Martha (Wahlert) Baker of Luverne, MN. She grew up in Luverne where she received her education, graduating from Luverne High School in 1955. She worked at a drive-in as a car hop and at the Luverne Telephone Company.
On January 14, 1956, she was united in marriage with Ben Aning at Luverne, MN. The couple lived in Luverne for one month, from 1956 to 1959 in Sioux Falls, and bought a home in Brandon, SD in 1959. In 1962, they bought a home in Sioux Falls where they were living at the time of her death.
Sharon was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and a member of Local Union 304A Retirees. She enjoyed going to the Retirees luncheon Club and being a member of AARP. She also enjoyed raising her family, traveling and fishing with Mart and Bake, old time dancing, picnics, band concerts, and attending Sioux Falls Skyforce basketball games. At one point, she had attended 187 consecutive home games. Sharon was the "Rock" of the family and was considered by all of her family to be an excellent wife, mother, grandmother, and a fabulous cook.
