2 Richard Harold Rudy was a Co-Owner Rudy Brothers Deli. Richard Harold Rudy, 82, of Harrisburg, passed away on Monday at the Hershey Medical Center. He was born in Harrisburg on December 22, 1926 to the late Ross H. and Mabel (Hocke) Rudy. He was the former co-owner of Rudy Brother's Deli stand in the West Shore Farmer's Market. Richard was a lifetime member of the Colonial Park United Church of Christ and a member of the churches Men's Bible Class. He enjoyed auto racing and traveling. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Rudy and his step-son, Richard Prescott. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy M.; son, John M. Rudy of Palmyra; daughter, Mary Cleckner and her husband Richard of Harrisburg; step-son, Stephen Prescott and his wife Jan of Harrisburg; two brothers, Fred and William Rudy, both of Harrisburg and three step granddaughters. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 9th at 11 a.m., at Colonial Park United Church of Christ, 5000 Devonshire Road, Harrisburg. Rev. Dr. Bonita Zobeck will be officiating. Burial will be held privately at a later date. Arrangements by Hetrick Funeral Home, 3125 Walnut Street, Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, 3211 North Front, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Published in the Harrisburg Patriot News, January 7, 2009.

Bill was a retired Correctional Officer for the Justice Department of Pennsylvania at Camp Hill. He served in the Navy in World War II and the Korean War. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 1001 and the Lower Paxton Golden Age Club. He enjoyed boating, fishing, bowling and metal detecting. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Geraldine Engle Cook; two sons, William D. Cook, Jr., and his wife, Patrice of Harrisburg, Paul E. Cook and his wife, Sheila of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His eldest son, John F. Cook, preceded him in death in May 2005. John F. Cook, 55, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at his home.
He was born October 4, 1949, in Harrisburg, a son of William Sr. and Geraldine (Engle) Cook.
John was a 1967 graduate of Central Dauphin High School. He had worked for 32 years as an electrician in electronics repair for the former Bethlehem Steel; was an instructor for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation; and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America. Mr. Cook was a veteran having served with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg and the VFW.
In addition to his parents, He is survived by two sons, Justin C. Cook and Jared F. Cook; a daughter, Jessica R. Cook; a granddaughter, Simone Koning; two brothers, William D. Cook, Jr. and Paul E. Cook; two nephews; two nieces and his close friend, Deb Popp.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Auer Memorial Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3211 N. Front Street, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or the Brain Tumor Center of Duke University, 047 Bakerhouse, Trent Drive, Durham, NC 27710.
