Sara J. Farner Sara J. Farner, 86, of Enola passed away from this life in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, August 10, 2008. She was born September 9, 1921 in Harrisburg, PA., the daughter of William Franklin Engle and Elizabeth Lear Engle. Sara worked for a number of years in the cafeterias of William Penn High School and Edison Junior High. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sara was the widow of Herbert M. Farner, Sr. and was preceded in death by her son Robert B. Farner; brothers, William, Norman, David and Robert Engle and sisters, Elizabeth Engle Simon, and Ruth Engle. She leaves to celebrate her life, her sons, Herbert (Judy), Donald (Tracey), Gary (Rosella), daughter Jeanne (Lou Bobish) all of Enola and son Larry (Joyce) of Dillsburg. She is also survived by sisters, Mary Engle Brown, Helen Engle Weaver, Dorothy Engle Rudy, Geraldine Engle Cook and niece Doris Conway, whom she loved as a sister. In addition, she leaves 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, August 14, 2008, 11:30 a.m. at the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA with Pastor Wade Wilson officiating. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to time of service. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.

Helen E. Weaver, 84, entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 19, 2008 at her home in Piketown.
She was born in Harrisburg on March 14, 1924, to the late William and Elizabeth (Lear) Engle.
She had been a devoted farmer's wife and mother, a Dutchmaid distributor and a retired contract driver for IU 13. Helen enjoyed macrame, chair caning, gourd birdhouse painting and was a member of the Lower Paxton Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Helen is survived by three daughters, Helen Marriott and Kathy Weaver of Piketown and Donna Reside of Lebanon; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 3 sisters and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Marlin L. Weaver, grandson, Travis Reside, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m., on Tuesday, December 23 at Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, 6011 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Helen requested that her funeral service be private. Burial will be in Mt. Laurel Cemetery, Piketown. A memorial service in her honor will be held at her church at a later date.

3 Geraldine (Engle) Cook, 92, of Linglestown, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at home. She was born on April 20, 1928 in Harrisburg to the late William F. and Elizabeth (Lear) Engle. Geraldine was a graduate of the former William Penn High School, Harrisburg, Class of 1946.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Geraldine had been a Cub Scout Den Mother, a bowling coach for Junior Bowlers, a member and past President of the Lower Paxton Golden Age Club, participated in senior bowling leagues and enjoyed playing cards.
Geraldine was the widow of William D. Cook, Sr., she was preceded in death by her son, John F. Cook in 2005. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, William (Ronald), Norman, David, Robert, 6 sisters, Elizabeth, Ruth, Sara, Helen, Mary and Dorothy.
Surviving is her companion, David W. Patrick, Sr., 2 sons, William D. Cook, Jr. and his wife, Patrice of Harrisburg, Paul E. Cook and his wife, Sheila of Myrtle Beach, SC, 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

R. Kirk Myers of Telford, formerly of Plumstead Township, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999 at the Lutheran Community at Telford. He was 98.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mae (Bishop) Myers, who died in 1973.
Mr. Myers was a lifetime member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Tinicum, where he served as vice president of church council. He was also a member of the Lutheran Church Men, Central Bucks Senior Citizens and the Old Guard.
Before retiring in 1976, Mr. Myers had a produce merchant route in Philadelphia for 47 years.
He enjoyed bowling with friends until age 98.
Mr. Myers is survived by a brother, Harry F. Myers; a sister, Ida Mae Bishop, both of the Lutheran Community at Telford; a sister-in-law Clara Bishop; many nieces and nephews and a long-time friend, Mary Etta Melcher.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Willis L. Myers and Clara Fox Myers, and a sister, Sarah F. Myers.
Funeral services were held Oct. 4 at Christ Lutheran Church, Pipersville. Interment was in St. Luke's Union Cemetery, Dublin.

IDA M. BISHOP
Ida Mae (Myers) Bishop, 96, a resident of the Lutheran Community at Telford for the last 14 years, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 at Grand View Hospital. She was married to the late Herman S. Bishop who died in 1975. Mrs. Bishop was formerly of Dublin and had resided on the Bishcroft Farm in Fountainville for 50 years.
Born in Groveland, she was a daughter of the late Willis and Clara (Fox) Myers.
She was a homemaker, but from 1930-1936 she was employed as a nurse's aide for Dr. Wallace of New Hope.
Mrs. Bishop was an active member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Dublin where she served on W.E.L.C.A. and was active with the Couples Club.
She was a member of the Curly Hill Thimble Social, the Central Bucks Senior Citizens Association, and Generations of Indian Valley, and was a life long member of the Plumsteadville Grange.
Mrs. Bishop enjoyed playing Pinochle, Uno, Bingo, and balloon volleyball. She was known for her apple pies and enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren.
She is survived by seven children: Margaret Ann Hardy, and her husband Ed; Martha Lois Buckman, and her husband Warren; William Clyde Bishop, and his wife Fran; Mary Jane Cerone, and her husband Robert; Herman M. Bishop, and his wife Marianne; Walter H. Bishop, and his wife Pat, and Joyce Mae Jones, and her husband Donald; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; one great great grandson, and two step grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings: R. Kirk Myers, Sarah Myers and Harry F. Myers.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 22 at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dublin. Burial was in St. Luke's Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville, Pa. 18960 or to the Lutheran Community at Telford, 235 N. Washington Ave., Telford, Pa. 18969.
