Bertha J. Ott was educated Pierce Junior College.3 Bertha J. Everist, 87, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008. She was married to Beryl E. Everist Sr. for 63 years.

Born in Hatfield, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Alberta Ott.

She lived in Hatfield and Lansdale until she and her husband retired to Florida in the late 1970s. After graduating from Hatfield High School in 1939, she went on to graduate from Pierce Junior College. She worked in Philadelphia as a secretary until she married. Then Mrs. Everist worked for Hanson's Textile in Hatfield during the 1950s and then for the North Penn School District Administrative offices during the 1960s up until her retirement.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by twin daughters: Sharon E. Moran and Charlene, and her husband Douglas Gustin; a son, Beryl E., and his wife Barbara Everist Jr.; five grandchildren: Michael Baumgartner, Amy Harlow, Carrie Hushka, and Elizabeth and Ryan Everist; five great grandchildren; two sisters: June Hines, and her husband Larry and Hannah Miller, and her husband Kenneth, and two brothers: Charles Ott, and his wife Jackie and Irwin Ott, and his wife Arlene. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Jacob and a son-in-law, Ross Moran.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. in the Wayside Chapel of Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Prospectville. Interment will follow the funeral.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, Franconia.
