Born in East Rockhill Township, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Emma (Frederick) Gombert.

She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, West Rockhill Township.

Survivors: Brother, Robert R., and a sister Florence, both of East Rockhill Township.

LAWRENCE - James Edward Sassman died Wednesday at Tandem Health Care of Lawrence. He was 86.
Born in Princeton, he resided in Plainsboro for many years before moving to Lawrence 40 years ago.
Mr. Sassman retired in 1989 after 44 years as operations manager for Blakely Laundry of Trenton.
He was a decorated Navy veteran who served on the U.S.S. Hornet during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of American Legion Post 76 of Princeton.
Son of the late Newton and Ada Sassman, father of the late Mark Sassman, he is survived by his wife, Alicia Sassman; daughter Robin Sassman; brother and sister-in-law George "Pete" and Lorraine Sassman of Plainsboro; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrence, with the Rev. Vincent Gartland, pastor of the Church of St. Ann, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lawrenceville Cemetery.
