She was born June 17, 1939, in Liverpool, Roane County, W.Va., a daughter of the late William and Roxie Leary Hudson. She was a licensed practical nurse, having worked in area hospitals and private duty for several years. She was a member of 36th Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Daryl Leon "Bud" Nonamaker; five daughters, a son and four sons-in-law, Debbie Sue and Glenn Dolphin of Aiken, S.C., Kimberly Ruth and Charles James of Parkersburg, Terry L. Powell of Parkersburg, Cathy Jayne and Edward Deem of Belpre, and Roxie Renae Nonamaker Province and Jay R. Province of West Virginia; one son and daughter-in-law, Marty Jay and Bonnie Nonamaker of Vienna; 11 grandchildren, Dan E. Smith Jr., David C. Smith, Josh Powell, Matt James, Ericka Krouse, Chad Allen James, Erin Dolphin, Dylan Wilbey, Daryl Ethan Nonamaker, Amanda Nonamaker and Ryann Province; four great-grandchildren, Daniel E. Smith III, Julian Austin Smith, Kyla C. Smith and Rylie Smith, all of South Carolina; her dog, Jello; and one granddog, Martha Parfiat.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John and Claudia Boggs Leary; her paternal grandparents, Fritz and Helen Hudson; and her dog, Puddin.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at 36th Street Church of Christ with Evangelist Tom Butterfield officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery North. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.

Memorials may be made, in Ruth's memory, to 36th Street Church of Christ, 610 36th St., Vienna, WV 26105.

Corella Dykens, Joplin, Mo., age 83, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at her home, following an illness.

Corella was born March 7 1920 on a farm north of McDonald, Kan., the daughter of the late Elza and Emma Rogers. She has been a Joplin resident since 1950.

She married Walter H. Dykens on Dec. 1, 1940 in Pierce City, Mo. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carl Junction, Mo.

She is survived by her husband, Walter H. Dykens, Joplin; one son, Arthur D. Dykens and wife, Carolyn, Joplin; one daughter, Wauneta L. Graves and husband, John, Joplin; one brother, Leonard Rogers, Bird City, Kan.; one sister, Faye Simpson, Charleston, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two son, Walter Elza Dykens and Charles Eugene Dykens; and two brothers, Roy Rogers and Dale Rogers; and two sisters, Lenora Keenon and Pearl Harris.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Cemetery, near Smith Center, Kan. Her grandson-in-law, Gilbert Sanborn will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard.

U.S> Army- Viet Nam. Funeral services for Sergeant Charles Eugene Dykens, 20 years old, who was killed Saturday night in an auto accident, will be at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon in Stremode (?) Funeral Home at Smith Center, Kan. Burial will be in Cedar cemetery at Smith Center.

Friends may call at Mason-Woodard, Joplin, all day Wednesday.

Sergeant Dykens, stationed with the United States Army at Fort Polk, LA. was killed there at 11:30 o'clock.

He was born April 13, 1946 at Bird City, Kansas and reared in Carl Junction graduating from high school in 1964.He went directly into service and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood for his training. From there he went for advanced training in Fort Polk, La., and then in Fort Riley, Kan. before going to Viet Nam in May 1965. He served one year there and at the time of his death was training NCO for replacement trainees at Fort Polk, La.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Dykens, Joplin; two brothers, Walter Elza Dykens of Salt Lake, Utah and Arthur Dykens, who is with the U.S. Army in Viet Nam; a sister, Miss Juanita Loretta Dykens of the home; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Laura Dykens of Smith Center, Kan.; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Emma Rogers of Bird City.
