4 Daniel E. Meeker , 87, of Kunkle, Dallas Township, passed away Sunday in Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
He was born in Noxen, son of the late Daniel and Alice Kunkle Meeker . He was a graduate of the Beaumont school.
Before retiring, Mr. Meeker was the owner/operator of Kunkle Motors, which was one of the first three Saab dealership in the United States.
He was a member of Alderson United Methodist Church; George M. Dallas Lodge 531 F&AM; Valley of Bloomsburg; Irem Shrine Center, Dallas; Dallas Chapter 396 Order of the Eastern Star; Pennsylvania Automotive Association; and Sports Car Club of America.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Betty) Transue Meeker ; brothers, William and Paul.
Surviving are a son, Roy E., Orange, Fla.; daughter, Joyce E. Soska, Harding; grandchildren, Susan Lauer, Laflin; Timothy E. Haddle, Kunkle; Royann Scott, Tennessee; Eugene D. Meeker , Kunkle; Mary Ann Milbrodt, Lehman Township; J. William Haddle III, Kunkle; Daniel E. Haddle, Kunkle; sisters, Lucille Harvey, Lake Carey; Ramona Wall, Beaumont; 22 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. W. William Kennard officiating. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic services will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m.
