Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, with military rites being conducted by Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24 of Aberdeen.

Boyd B. "Chico" Bruse was born on March 20, 1931, in Aberdeen, SD, to Albert and Cora (Snover) Bruse. He was raised and attended school in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School with the Class of 1949.
In 1950, Boyd entered the United States Navy and served his country until 1954. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Aberdeen.
Boyd was married to Judie Emery at Barnard, SD, on August 17, 1956. The couple made their home in Aberdeen, where he worked for a beer distributorship and later, as a route salesman for Pepsi. Chico then became employed at Hedahls Auto Plus, where he remained until poor health forced him to retire.
Chico was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #17, the Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodges.
Chico was an avid Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan.
Grateful to have shared in Chico's life is his wife, Judie; children: Doug, Debbie Jung, Lori Reis and Jeff; six grandchildren; and three sisters: Phyliss Job, Betty Hansen and Nancy Karlen.
Chico is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Frederick and Marvin Bruse, and one sister, Ann Murray.
