Samuel Paul Willever,75 ,of Harmondy Township,N.J,.,died Sunday Jan.2,in Lehigh Valley Hospital.
He was a postal clerk for the U.S.Postal Service in Washington for more than 20 years before retiring in 1987.
Born Nov.28,1924,in Harmony Township,He was a son of Cora Ethel COOL Willever of Harmondy Township,and the late Samuel Deemer WILLEVER.
He served in the Army during World War II under Gen.George Patton, and received two Purple Hearts.
He was a 1943 graduate of Belvidere High School.
He was a member of Harmondy Presbyterian Church in Harmondy Township,where he served as an Elder.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 131 in Belvidere for more than 50 years.
He was a advid bowler and a member of several mens leagues.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years,whom he married Des.31,1943: the former Rita L.DePuy; a son James P.of Harmondy Township;a daughter,Susan Willever CHRISTIAN of Yardley Pa;two sisters,Gloria Smith of Harmondy Township and Ellen REICH of Fairfax,VA; four grandchildren and a great-grand daughter.
Services will be held at 11:a.m.Thursday in MacFadden Funeral Home,325 Hardwick St Belvidere.Call 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in funeral home.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Harmondy Township.
