LAFAYETTE - Barry S. Vaughan, 63, of Lafayette, died Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Newton Medical Center.

Born in Newton, Barry was raised in Lafayette and grew up on the Vaughan Family Dairy Farm, where he also worked. He was a graduate of Sussex County Vo-Tech and was a former foreman and machine operator at Ames Rubber Corp., Sussex Office, where he worked for 21 years. Barry enjoyed farm life and gardening. He loved the outdoors.

The son of Paul and Adele (nee Hockenberry) Vaughan, Barry is survived by his wife, Jane (nee Blake), whom he married in 1979; three children, Amanda Vaughan of Hopatcong, Katherine Vaughan of Lafayette, Barry S. Vaughan II of Bend, Oregon and two grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Linda Pettenger of Lafayette; and four brothers, David Vaughan of Penn Yan, New York, Leonard Vaughan of Penn Yan, New York, Richard Vaughan of Ithaca, New York, and Jon Vaughan of Lafayette, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Vaughan Cemetery in Sparta. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton.

"SPARTA -- Judson V. Bennett, 66, of Sparta, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at Newton Medical Center. Born in Newton, Judson had resided in Sparta most of his life.

Son of the late G. Vincent and Lucy (Vaughan) Bennett, Judson worked more than 30 years as a consulting forester. A devout and active member of the First Baptist Church of Newton, he also served as the head usher and financial secretary. He was also an active member of the New Jersey Tree Farm System, where he served as the treasurer, and was involved with the Society of American Foresters. Judson enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid gardener and spent down time reading books, particularly on Civil War history.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. at the Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 5 p.m. at Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main St., Newton.

Amy Mae Hilton was born on 28 June 1914 in Troy, Rensselaer, New York. She and William D. Morgan were married on 26 November 1946 in Salem, Washington, New York.¹ She died on 4 January 1991, at age 76.
