A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 22 at Community Church of Greenwood, 1477 West Main Street, Greenwood. A memorial gathering will be from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. If desired, flowers may be sent to the church on Monday only. Chris Bass of Greenwood, Pamela DeGarady of South Carolina, and Michael Bass, Patty Delacruz and Tamara Mobley of Indianapolis; two step-grandchildren, Patty Hasket of Elwood and Doug Stephens of Indianapolis; a brother Dwain Bass of Scottsdale, Ariz; three sisters, Allene Eiler of Shelbyville, Judy Van Dao of Shelbyville and Ann McDaniel of Manilla; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marie Bass.

A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. today at G.H. Herrmann Greewwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Emtombment will be in Washington PArk East Cemetery in Indianpolis.

Bob graduated from Bucknell University in 1958, was a member of Phi Lambda Theta fraternity where he served as Steward from 1956 to 1958 and attended Colgate Rochester Divinity School, Rochester, N.Y.

Bob was a teacher in New Jersey state and local public education systems for 35 years, improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.

He is survived by beloved wife and partner Janet Bull Borden of Chestertown; son David M. of Newmanstown, Pa.; daughter Barbara Lynn, son-in-law Sam Zuvekas, all of Rockville; brother William Kenneth Haslam of Salisbury; and cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He is predeceased by his sister, Shirley Howe of Hatboro, Pa.
