Stanley J. ''Shine'' Reeves, 52, of 94 Searles Road, in Lansing, died Saturday at Tompkins Community Hospital in Ithaca.

He was employed as an equipment operator with the Lansing town highway department for more than 20 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Carrington-Fuller American Legion Post 800 of Groton and former member of the North Lansing Fire Company.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Janet Winters Reeves; two sons, Randy and Jay, both of Lansing; three daughters, Cindy Reeves and Laurie Fenner, both of Lansing and Kathy Snyder of McLean; seven brothers, Robert of Godfrey, Ontario, John of Port Byron, Lester of Venice, Lawrence of Weedsport, James of Greene, Edward of Lansing and Coral ''Mick'' of Genoa; four sisters, Beatrice Krouse and Betty Saville, both of Venice and Mary Arlene Keeney and Lila Hildreth of Genoa; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Church of Genoa. Burial will be in North Lansing cemetery.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Shurtleff Funeral Home of Genoa, 3177 Main St.

Lawrence Elwood Reeves was born on 27 February 1932 in Genoa, Cayuga, New York. He and Joyce Bell were married on 17 June 1954 in Niles, Cayuga, New York. He died on 27 December 1995, at age 63, in Weedsport, Cayuga, New York. He was buried in Weedsport Rural Cemetery, Weedsport, Cayuga, New York.
