Mrs. Mina Lewis Reeves, 74 of Genoa died in Auburn Memorial Hospital this morning after a long illness.

Surviving are her husband, Lee Reeves, four daughters, Mrs. Lyle Hildreth and Mrs. Arlene Keeney, Genoa; and Mrs. Beatrice Krouse and Mrs. Betty Saville, Venice Center; eight sons, Robert and Coral of Genoa, James, Stanley and Ed of Lansing, John of Port Byron, Lawrence of Weedsport annd Lester of Scipio; 63 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Private services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the A.E. Redman Funeral Home in Genoa. There will be no calling hours. Friends who wish may contribute in Mrs. Reeve's memory to the Cayuga County Cancer Sociaty.

The Rev. John Linsey of Port Byron will officiate. Burial will be in Genoa Rural Cemetery.

Robert Lee Reeves, 79 of Buridge, Ontario Canada died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000 at his home in Canada. Mr. Reeves was born May 20, 1920 in Genoa, the eldest son of Robert and Nina Lewis Reeves.

Robert owned and operated his own dairy farm in Genoa until he moved to Canada in 1971, where he worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending memorable times with his family and friends and will be sadly missed. He was preceded in death by his son Ross; three brothers, Lester, Lawrence and Stanley; and his sister Lena.

He survived by his wife Marjorie of Ontario, Canada; four sons, William (Natasha), Donald (Ann), Mark (Debbie), Roy (Mary Jo) all of Genoa; Four brothers John (Barbara) of Port Byron, James (Lois) of Greene, Edward (Carrie) of Lansing, Coral (Carole) of Genoa; four sisters, Beatrice (William) Krause of Venice Center, Lila (Howard) Hildreth of Genoa, Arlene Keeney of Genoa, Betty Saville of Venice Center; two sisters-in-laws Joyce Reeves of Phelps, and Janet Reeves of Groton; three stepchildren Leonard (Bonnie) Mallott; Kevin (Tammy) Mallott, and Betty (Wayne) Kehoe all of Canada. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Kingston Regional Cancer Center in Kingston, Ontario Canada or a charity of one's choice.

PORT BYRON - John H. Reeves, 85, of Conquest Road, Port Byron, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Sunday Feb. 14, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Reeves was born in Genoa on Jan. 2, 1925, the son of Lee and Nina (Lewis) Reeves. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the Army. He retired from the Local 545 Operating Engineers, working mostly in the Syracuse area. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He loved the outdoors. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Auburn. He is survived by his children, Curtis J. (Virginia) Reeves, of California, Vicky A. Vogel, of Clearwater, Fla., Valery Reeves and companion, Gene DeBois, of Montezuma, Michael S. Reeves, of Florida, Steven W. (Joanne) Reeves, of Auburn, Brandon L. Lester E. "Ock" Reeves, 69, of Geiger Road died Monday at Auburn Memorial Hospital.

A native of Genoa, Mr. Reeves was a life resident of southern Cayuga County. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Local 545, International Union of Operating Engineers, and had been a self-employed farmer. Mr. Reeves also had been employed with the Genoa Town Highway Department and International Salt Co. His wife, Henrietta, died in 1994.

Surviving are five sons, Timothy Reeves of Moravia, Kevin Reeves of Venice Center, Frank Stockton of Arkansas, Gerry Stockton of Louisiana and Terry Stockton of Scipio Center; two daughters, Carol Horne of Arkansas and Dixie Prince of Venice Center; five brothers, Robert of Godfrey, Ontario, John of Port Byron, James of Florida, Edward of Lansing and Coral "Mick" of Genoa; four sisters, Beatrice Krause and Betty Saville, both of Venice Center, and Mary Arlene Keeney and Lila Hildreth, both of Genoa; 24 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Spring burial will be in Genoa Rural Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Shurtleff Funeral Home, 3177 Main St., Genoa.

GENOA - Lila M. Hildreth, 83, of Indian Field Road, Genoa, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at the Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca. Mrs. Hildreth was born Aug. 11, 1928 in Genoa, a daughter of the late Herbert Lee and Nina Margaret (Lewis) Reeves. A lifelong Genoa resident, Lila was formerly employed with Smith-Corona in Groton and later with GE in Auburn. Lila's life had most importantly been devoted to her late husband, Howard, and to her family. She also enjoyed flower gardening in her spare time. She is survived by her nine children, Jacqueline Tillett, Bruce Townsend (Louise), Daniel Hildreth (Jackie), Lon Hildreth (Becki), Patricia Brown (Don), William Hildreth (Anne), Susan Bacon (John), Debra Thornton, and David Hildreth (Brenda); 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Beatrice Krause, of Poplar Ridge, Betty Saville, of Skaneateles, Arlene Keeney, of Genoa; three brothers, James Reeves, of Greene, Edward Reeves, of Lansing, and Coral 'Mick' Reeves, of Genoa; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Vivian Jane Tull, 80, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday evening, May 9, 2006.

Jane was born on August 1, 1925 in Endicott, a daughter of the late George and Edith (Reid) VanGorder.
She was predeceased by her son, Mark L. Tull, her brothers, George (Stretch), John Richard and Robert VanGorder; and her nephew Graig Tull.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Clyde H. Tull at home; and her devoted daughters, Judith Berghorn, Virginia Sheppard and her husband, Robert, all of Newark Valley. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Linda Jane Berghorn-Tijerina and husband, Tony, Mark Berghorn and wife, Debbie, Newark Valley, Lindsey Sheppard, Boston, Mass., Brittany Sheppard, Oneonta; great-grandchildren, Scott Berghorn, Lauren Belle Tijerina, Marissa, Katie Jane and Karli Berghorn; her sisters, Mary Cook Ferris, Schnectady, Gretchen and Michael Santangelo, Rochester; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Evelyn Martin, Berkshire, Gerry Tull, Endicott, Gordon and Mildred Tull, Dryden and Eleanor VanGorder, N.J.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jane was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School and a member of the United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of IBM and for many years while raising her family, assisted her husband in the operation of the family dairy farm. She was instrumental in organizing a Home Bureau Chapter and was a long time member of ONYX Chapter 196, OES, Newark Valley. Jane delighted in preparing meals and deserts for her family and friends. She was also a talented seamstress and artist and enjoyed gardening and photography.

A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley, with the Rev. William McCall and the Rev. James Valentine officiating.

Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley.

The family will receive their friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home on Friday, 4-8 p.m. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Mark L. Tull Scholarship Fund, PO Box 66, Newark Valley, N.Y. 13811, in loving memory of Vivian Jane Tull.
