Vivian Jane Tull, 80, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday evening, May 9, 2006.
Jane was born on August 1, 1925 in Endicott, a daughter of the late George and Edith (Reid) VanGorder.
She was predeceased by her son, Mark L. Tull, her brothers, George (Stretch), John Richard and Robert VanGorder; and her nephew Graig Tull.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Clyde H. Tull at home; and her devoted daughters, Judith Berghorn, Virginia Sheppard and her husband, Robert, all of Newark Valley. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren, Linda Jane Berghorn-Tijerina and husband, Tony, Mark Berghorn and wife, Debbie, Newark Valley, Lindsey Sheppard, Boston, Mass., Brittany Sheppard, Oneonta; great-grandchildren, Scott Berghorn, Lauren Belle Tijerina, Marissa, Katie Jane and Karli Berghorn; her sisters, Mary Cook Ferris, Schnectady, Gretchen and Michael Santangelo, Rochester; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Evelyn Martin, Berkshire, Gerry Tull, Endicott, Gordon and Mildred Tull, Dryden and Eleanor VanGorder, N.J.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jane was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School and a member of the United Methodist Church. She was a former employee of IBM and for many years while raising her family, assisted her husband in the operation of the family dairy farm. She was instrumental in organizing a Home Bureau Chapter and was a long time member of ONYX Chapter 196, OES, Newark Valley. Jane delighted in preparing meals and deserts for her family and friends. She was also a talented seamstress and artist and enjoyed gardening and photography.
A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley, with the Rev. William McCall and the Rev. James Valentine officiating.
Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley.
The family will receive their friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home on Friday, 4-8 p.m. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Mark L. Tull Scholarship Fund, PO Box 66, Newark Valley, N.Y. 13811, in loving memory of Vivian Jane Tull.
